Template usage[edit]
Welcome to the wiki. I noticed you're creating a lot of templates, but pulled them from (The Rave?). Since templates are made to be re-used, is there a reason you just can't use his templates but put your own information in the parameters? --JonTheMon 21:19, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've created a lot of templates - but most of them have been adapted in some way or other (they aren't absolutely identical to what The Rave had. So therefore I'm uploading them... I was torn between uploading them overtime and having a broken site for ages, or just spamming the recent changes and hoping that people would just filter me out. - If you're making significant changes, i can see you making your own templates. Just pointing out that re-using might be better than re-creating. But, if you've worked it out go ahead. --JonTheMon 21:24, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- They're not always significant changes, sometimes just minor ones, for example with The Raves templates, I stripped out the styles into a seperate template to enable me to change colors and styles more quickly and easily. But they are mostly things that can't simply be changed easily with parameters. Course, there are some that I am uploading where I think I have done very, very little (I have a wiki sat on my intranet, and I've used that for the building of the userpage), but I can't honestly remember which I edited and which I didn't so it's easier (for me) to just upload them all. Oh, and it just struck me that I was incredibly rude... Thank you for your kind welcome! - Windz 21:29, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
