Earth shaker is bad?Pika Fan 19:15, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

In PvP it is. If you are PvPing, you're better off with Devastating Hammer(less cost + weakness) or Backbreaker(4 second knockdown)
Its not bad in PvP.--75.94.77.148 05:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
It is compared to Dev hammer and Backbreaker.
Heard of HA? Also, terrible idea. Forcing people to play with certain skills imposes on regular play. Misery 15:59, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
It's just for one weekend so that players can really see how badly Build Wars is balanced. Also, it destroys most of the gimmick builds out there temporarily.
It destroys ALL builds temporarily. How happy do you think top GvGers are going to be? Do you think they are going to want to play with builds they have never practiced with before? Misery 19:03, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Give them something new to do. Also, everyone else has to use the bad skills.
Yeah... I don't think you understand competitive PvP very much. They will not be happy. Misery 19:14, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't think you understand anything very much. I don't give a ---- if top GvGers are not happy, they are less than 1% of the players.

The definition of a 'bad' elite would be different for so many people, how could ANET pick those skills with which to force players to use? Besides, you can't compare this elite, or that elite with each other to determine 'balance'. The idea behind balancing is how combinations of skills from one build or profession, match up with combinations of skills from other builds or professions. For instance, if a Ranger were to only equip one skill, let's say Punishing Shot, and an ele was forced to take Ether Renewal, who's going to win that fight? One elite does damage, the other does not. This idea is not only idiotic, but would prove nothing as to whether ANET has made the right choices in the effort to 'balance' the game. Furthermore, this idea that 'gimmick' builds are somehow unfair, or over powered, or unbalanced is silly. ANY build can be called a gimmick build. For instance, a necro can be a minion master, but an ele has no skills within his own profession that would also allow him to be a minion master without using necro as secondary. So that MUST make a minion master a gimmick build. So called 'gimmick' builds are merely builds where players have used their minds to create builds that win using the skills that are available to everyone. Yes, in some cases, those builds may be invincible, and when that happens, ANET does what it can to correct that (see Shadow Form and Ursan Blessing nerfs). Finally, one must not mistake balancing as being equality. Balance is about making professions competitive and also complimentary with each other. If all professions and subsequently all builds were truly equal to each other, then there would be no way to defeat your opponent and there would be a stalemate.--209.194.208.116 22:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

This suggestion is one bad joke. :/ Mediggo 23:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
It's better than the current state of Build Wars.
Buffing skills that aren't causing problems is not a priority. If you want anet to realize how shitty the game is, tell them to play it for awhile. Tell them to do some HA or GvG and see how frustrating is to not be able to cast spells. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 23:21, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Buffing skills is not the problem, it's creating broken game mechanics like Remove target player from the game, target foe cannot use skills while taking 105 damage every 3 seconds, and entire enemy team gets pressured so much that they drop dead from exhaustion as your blue bar goes up and Anet's competence goes down.
The main problem is that Anet created over a thousand skills. It is very hard to balance them all. 600 skills i think would be fine ;). 200 offensive, 200 defensive, 200 optional xD. --Kigamo 16:19, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
The main problem is that Anet doesn't test anything and their balance team does completely retarded stuff. Then when players complain that Anet broke the ---- out of their game, they take 3...6...7 months to fix it (Attribute:The balancing team is playing World of Warcraft at their desks instead of testing their failed skill changes to Build Wars like they should be).
This is slightly amusing. I do however take issue with Ravenous Gaze being a bad elite. A great skill to pair with it is Shroud of Distress. Shroud doesn't kick in until under 50%, which is exactly when RG shines. The two mesh well together. Flipper 03:10, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
It's useful in perhaps one or two builds. That doesn't diminish the fact that it's a bad skill.

I smell troll. If you think you can do a better job at skill balancing, send in a resume to Anet, and stfu about "bad skill balancing". This is also a page for suggestions, not a page for you to whine and cry about 10-20 skills that have limited uses out of hundreds in the game.--Ohnoes 15:46, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
