the tactician[edit]

uses his/her sabre. Though it would be unique for them not to use them, every prof should have a weapon, it needs the balance. What if someone used Power Block on one of your skills? Most of ur bar might be parries related--User Raph Sig.pngRaph Talky 02:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

I spose you run that risk w/ any profession really... if they did have a proper weapon, they'd be majorly overpowered... even though almost all of their skill do have a 50% chance to fail... and all have drawbacks... all are quick activate though...
eh..--User Raph Sig.pngRaph Talky 15:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

common usage[edit]

It works with ursan, too - seeing as ursan teams always have more than one ursan. -Auron 22:18, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Preview and talk page[edit]

Hi, please use the "Show Preview" button when editing in order to keep the page history and list of recent changes clean, as well as to view your edits. You should go to "Save page" when you are finished.

Also, you may wish to move your tactician notes and whatnot to a userpage, e.g. User:Zeph/Tactician, as your talk page is for users contacting you - user pages are for your own ideas and information, so the tactician stuff would be better placed on a userpage. Thanks --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 13:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

wat[edit]

  1. "guys, the paragon can heal better than any monk." Word of Healing, Restore Condition, and Healer's Boon/Heal Party disagree. Also, paragons can't remove hexes or conditions in any reliable fashion (i.e., you can't say "crippled on 5" in a relic run and get it removed from a paragon unless he's got a stupid elite that's gimping his ability to perform in every other map type. RC excels in keeping runners clean for relic/flag runs, but it isn't suddenly less effective in PvE or any other map type in PvP).
  2. "they can use a scythe better than any derv." Wounding Strike and Avatar of Melandru disagree. If you can't use the best two dervish elites in the game, you aren't doing anything better than a derv.
  3. "they can spread dazed." By this, you mean they can dazed one touch range target every 20 seconds for a pretty high cost? Compare that to, say, what rangers do without trying? Hell, even warriors have more feasible options for dazed. Paragons can't "spread" dazed, nor do they apply it as efficiently as other classes do.
  4. "they can do anything." Er... they can't apply the lethal pressure of a warrior, the total shutdown of midline casters, or the healing, prot and utility of a backline caster. Oh, and they can't split worth a damn. Even a mesmer can kill a paragon on the split, and that's pretty bad.
  5. "stop dissing them!" I'm not. I love paragons. My most accomplished PvE char (6 titles lol) is a paragon, and I play them in PvP as often as the team build allows. They do, however, have limitations - using a scythe on a paragon is just silly. -Auron 14:03, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Just saying that a spear on a para is rather silly. All these build are viable, unless it has been nerfed w/o my knowledge. For the monk, I usually have General Morgahn as my ONLY healer. For the scythe, well, yeah it is a different build, but it works. My spreading dazed... yeah the elite is in another profession... but it is all done with a Paragon...Zeph 14:10, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Looks like somebody didn't get the memo. This just in, Spears were put in Guild Wars for Paragons to use. Whodathunkit. -Faer 14:22, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, your right, they were... but, when you are trying to use other skills, and the spear is completely absent from their build (which happens quite a lot with me), the only logical option is to go to another profession and take their weapons (such as a wand and hold item)... as those would be much more useful...Zeph 14:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Too bad the other professions that were designed to use those weapons and skills will always do it better than a Paragon will. ¯\(º_o)/¯ -Faer 15:51, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
I wish... :)...Zeph 19:48, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for a few moments. Want to pass some templates out so people can try the builds you are praising for themselves? -Faer 03:38, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Minor Edits[edit]

Please always remember:
User Ryuu Desu Minor Preview.jpg
Make use of the minor edits button, your recent changes to the pages under your user namespace weren't marked as one, and cannot be properly hidden by those who don't wish do display such edits underrecent changes; just make sure to keep this in mind in the future, as all edits under the username space must be marked as minor edits. If you're one whose prone forget setting minor edits whenever it is required, there is a setting under the preferences screen under the "Editing" section that automatically marks all edits as minor by default, this is a very useful feature, esepcially if you don't edit under then main space frequently.

Marking user page edits (or any page, really) as minor isn't a requirement, it's just a nice thing to do. --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 16:20, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm not important enough? Zeph 16:27, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Trust me, at this rate, only 10% of users on the wiki will be without one of these posts on their talkpage >_> ~ Ryuu DesuUser Ryuu Desu Sig.png[ Talk|Contributions ] 18:00, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
