I think that the idea holds merit, however as Painted Bird mentioned, not necessarily a wise choice to name it after Shiro. Other than that I like the thought. Oh btw Bird, I'm certain that Shiro is not universally hated since I am positive that people in say, Droknar's Forge could care less about him, even in Cantha I doubt that there are a few factions that would wish to have Shiro and his plague back.
