ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/The Shapeshifter

That would be awesome, although I would narrow it down. A shapeshifter would be able to shapeshift from human form into certain animals. It can only shapeshift into that animal if it has casted a spell on the animal, kinda like a ranger gets a pet. In a shapeshifters invintory it'd have spells that'd transform it into an animal, and the animal it transformed into would have moves. This can also be very bad because it would take even longer for GW2 to produce.

They already made the animal blessings for EotN so it shouldn't take THAT much work. I also stand behind the idea of 1 Elite Skill that chooses which form to use and the other skills would be attack/defense etc. skills for that form. As for how the shapeshifting works we have to keep in mind the game mechanics. Skill cast time, duration and recharge time. Would a shapeshift with time limit work? Most likely not. PvP = skill wears out = inability to do anything = ROFLMAO death.

GW2 apparently will have less skills to begin with so having the Elites and their corresponding skills wouldn't be that impossible. Also before getting the elite skills, the class could have some other sort of partial shapeshift skills. D&D druids come to mind: Skin of the Elephant, Barkskin, Claws of the Beast (or whatever it was) etc.
