O look paragons suck! Buff them now! 24.141.45.72 00:42, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Just a thought
I've noticed people saying paragons are too strong when multiple are present, and too weak when only one is present. Why couldn't we just have something like the order enchants have, "blah blah blah only if target is not under the effects of another paragon echo"? Seems like it would nerf the effects of multi-paragon-parties, while buffing solo paragons. I'm not any good at balancing, just a thought that popped into my head. Food for thought at least? :) DelvingAngel 22:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- How would that buff solo Paragons? You idea might work, but it needs something else in order to buff it for solo Paragons. Nicky Silverstar 07:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I guess I left that out. I was thinking that the some of the skills could be "unnerfed", at least to a certain degree. Which would empower the class, but since para-stacking was out it would only empower solo paragons. DelvingAngel 16:58, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Mmm...that might not be such a bad idea then...Nicky Silverstar 08:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Only a certain amount of Paragon shouts per time
For Paragon shouts that tend to cause problems in groups of lots of Paragons, I suggest adding an effect to them that prevents characters from being effected by the same shout within a certain amount of time. (So, for example, Incoming!, might prevent anyone effected by the shout from being effected again for something like 10 seconds.) A similar effect for echos might involve having them only having their effect every second, 2 seconds, or so if they cause problems.Tambora 02:07, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Izzy's opinion
Nice suggestions everyone, some of them might actually have potential. I'd love to read a designer's input on this. What do you think of these suggestions in general Izzy? 145.94.74.23 07:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Izzy doesn't care about paragons. Look at how much he commented on warrior skills and how much on paragon skills. Paragons are like a bastard child that parents hate for runining their lives, so they love to smack them around. Same with paragons, being a class of party buffs and spear mastery, the passive defense of party buffs makes Izzy miserable so he smacks them around with nerf bat all the time. He doesn't care that the whole profession only has about 6 good skills out of 85, he just want them to stop causing balance problems. Thus he will nerf them any time they are the best at something, and never buff them, until they are second rate at everything. In pvp now you only see spear mastery paragons all the time, because all the support skills have been bashed into dust. Look at the "issues" he "addressed". He basically ruined Ballad of Restoration and Song of Restoration. Watch exhibition match in obs mode right now. #1 guild vs #5. One team has shitload of team synergies. It has Anthem of Flame, Anthem of Envy, Anthem of Guidance, several GftE on a team with 5 physicals(paragons). A team with such strong synergy must win right? Wrong. It gets defeated by team with no synergies. They got killed by 2 wounding strike D/E spammers, 2 Me/Mo smite signet mesmers, a ranger, a rit, monks, etc...If Anthems don't do well in a team with 5 physicals where they get max mileage, how the hell are they supposed to not be underpowered on a team with 2 physicals. Paragons will continue to suck as long as Izzy's priority will be to keep them out of meta. We have like 1 build in pvp and 1 build in pve(imbagon) across whole profession. Yawn! Nicely done anet. --Spura 16:44, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Two PvE builds. Ursan. Also, dervs are overpowered as hell. -- Armond Warblade

- Oh right ursan...didn't count that one since it is not prof specific. And the other PvE build(imbagon) is based primarily on 2 pve skills too. --Spura 17:28, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Almost all the skills are here in the list. Motivation tree is useless. Ive unlocked all the skills in motivation tree and dam! Cant do a single effective build around Motivation. Theres a buttload of reason which I wont go into but really, almost 70% of Paragon skills are useless in PvP. Of course, since Izzy hasnt done nothing. To anyone who knows what a Imaginative Number, a number who is perfect to solve a (example:square)root of a negative number,is in math heres a joke. I gotta envy him, right now hes gotta be playing Paragon with a lot of Imaginative Builds.--ShadowFog 19:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
