In Guild Wars there were different Holidays in different Campains. In Factions there is the Canthan New Year, the Dragon Festival, etc. In Prophecies there is Halloween, Wintersday, etc. I began thinking of an evolution of this concept.

While I would like to see the return of the classic Holidays in Guild Wars 2. I cannot see the Charr celebrating Wintersday, why would the Charr take sides in Dwayna Vs Grenth when they don't believe in the gods? I think there should be different Holidays celebrated by the different Races.

Holidays Ideas[edit]

Here are some possible Holidays for the different Races:

Human

The Return of the Classic Holidays. Wintersday, Halloween, etc.

Charr

Shaman's Fall (celebrated the week of Independence Day). Today we celebrate the day we cast down the feeble Shamans and their false gods. Let the words of Pyre Fierceshot ring out once again; 'THERE ARE NO GODS'!

Norn

Heroes Day (celebrated the week of Veterans Day). Today we honor our fallen heroes, and celebrate and commemorate the heroes among us still. Our songs shall ensure that the memory of their great deeds shall live on.

Asura

Founding Day (celebrated the week of Thomas Edison's Birthday or the Birthday of some other famous inventor). Today we commend the founding of the esteemed Colleges of Synergetics, Statics, and Dynamics. May the conceptions beget in these honorable, illustrious, and renowned complexes one day help to turn the wheels of the Eternal Alchemy.

Sylvari

Firstborn day (celebrated the week of May Day). Today we celebrate the day Mother Tree gave life to the Firstborns. May the Mother Tree continue to bestow her blessing upon us.
Arborialis (celebrated Earth Day or Arbor Day): May we be one with the land and flourish in the efflorescence of our purity. Today we celebrate all that comes from the nature around us, and strive to give back to this eternal balance; this grand river of life in which we are carried to our destinies.
