Walkthrough[edit]

This fractal is the most random of the lot; players will fight a random three enemies from a pool of nine. Thus, the list below is in no particular order, and due to the random nature of the encounters, players may not encounter all of them in several playthroughs of the fractal.

All of the fights are normal fights, excepting a unique mechanic per group, detailed below.

- Skritt Raiding Party

There will be double the normal Skritt; 10. Each of these Skritt have a pemanent buff which gives them a 1%...10% (depending on Fractal level) bonus to the damage they deal for each Skritt in the surrounding area. Other then this, the Skritt will be random classes of those found elsewhere in the game.

- Quaggan Defenders

There will be fewer Quggan then other enemies; only four. The trick is that once these Quaggan reach 50% health, they'll change to their enraged mode, and gain a large increase in damage and chance to hit.

- Hylek Alchemists

The Hylek will use many more area of effect skills then usual; they will mainly throw vials at the players, with the occasional one mimicking the Engineer's vial skills.

- Ogre Beastmaster

The Ogre Beastmaster is unique in that it will use more then one pet; two boars. Whenever it would use a skill that would effect one pet it effects both.

- Grawl Shaman

The Grawl Shaman will summon ice elementals in addition to it's ice-based attacks. These elementals are fairly easy to deal with, but will become a hassle if left to accumulate.

- Moa Flock

The Mao Flock is made up of 8 individuals rather then 5, and have a fast attack speed. Other then this, they will often attack one enemy at a time, rather then spreading the damage.

- Pirate Crew

The Pirate Crew will spawn with several Bottles of Rum and Elixir of Heroes lying about. Although you may use these as well, the enemies will often grab a bundle and use it themselves. Whenever a pirate is killed, it'll drop 5 random bottles at it's location.

- Mook and Ogg

Mook and Ogg will be a different fight then against many Ettins; it will continually use shouts whilst executing other attacks, and the limited space in the ring will make it's attacks harder to dodge.

- Harpy Clutch

The Harpy clutch will seem initially to contain only three enemies; the Matriach and two Harpy Hunters. The Matriach however will constantly call adds whenever it gets hit, with these low level adds not dying when she is killed.

Arena Champion

The Arena Champion is a Largos. Although it is a single combatant, it will prove more deadly then most of the other foes you will face.

The Largos will very rarely walk between targets, instead shadowstepping between foes where this is possible. Skills to block or otherwise incapacitate the Largos will counter this behavior, but only for a few moments.

Due to the nature of the damage being spread around quickly, it is advised AoE heals are brought. There will be few conditions during the fight, other then occasional chill. The Largos will prioritize players reviving allies, so it is advised to bring skills which help shield this behavior.

Other then the above, the Largos will occasionally step to the center of the ring and throw knives around her body for a moment; these are best avoided, or reflected if possible.

Once she is defeated, the fractal will stabilize.

Achievement

Run the Gauntlet - Face off against all of the arena's foes (achieved over several playthroughs)
