Bottomless Pit Fractal[edit]

In this fractal, players will jump into the bottomless pit found in the Far Shiverpeaks in Guild Wars, and attempt to work their way down to the core of the world.

Objectives

- Explore the Pit.
- Break through the first barrier.
-> Destroy the barrier by force.
- Break through the second barrier.
-> Freeze the supports holding the barrier up.
- Defeat the destroyer guarding the third barrier.

Walkthrough[edit]

Players in this fractal will gain a buff before they enter the hole called "Bracing", and have 10 stacks. Each stack will prevent 10% of falling damage dealt to the player; each time a player takes falling damage one stack is removed.

- The Fall

This first section is fairly easy. The drops is in this fractal are a lot larger then players are used to; this translates into being able to "steer" their bodies more over the distances. Each player must attempt to avoid the ledges which jut out the sides of the hole. If a player does manage to hit a ledge, they will lose a stack of "Bracing" but beyond that should not suffer any horrible effects.

Once all the remaining players reach the first barrier, any defeated or downed players will be spawned above them with a short drop. This style of play will be repeated between each barrier, with the buff beind removed by the Destroyer boss.

- Barrier One

At this stage of the fractal, players must find large snowballs which will litter the tunnels around the barrier. Players must push these snowballs up the inclines in the tunnels around. The longer they push, the larger the boulder will become, however these snowballs will eventually get stuck in the tunnels, and will need to be destroyed. The goal is to push these snowballs to openings or ledges around the perimeter of the hole, which will cause them to fall and damage the barrier.

All the while, they will have to deal with a large number of constantly respawning Dredge, however there will be no veterans amoungst this group. There are five Stone Summit Overseers spread throughout the map, which will buff these weak Dredge however, so it may be prudent to deal with these before attempting to roll the boulders. Note that the boulders being rolled will damage any hostiles around; outright killing them if they get in the way.

- Barrier Two

At this barrier, players must trick the ice elementals which will continually spawn into attacking the supports at the four intersections of the hole.

This is easily done, but takes a while to get used to. Players will simply need to dodge the ice blast skill the elementals use, hopefully getting the projectiles to hit the supports. Each support needs 3-4 hits to take down.

Be careful of the elementals overwhelming players; they will continually spawn until the barrier is down, and thus the battle may get quite chaotic.

- The Destroyer

Once players have made it to the third barrier, a Destroyer will burst through the middle of the field, and begin attacking players.

The Destroyer's opening attack is always to remove the "Bracing..." buff off of players, making the rest of the fight more difficult. Whilst the champion Destroyer has nothing in the way of damage mitigation, at intervals (which decrease depending on the level of the fractal) the boss will jump into the air and come down through a section of the floor; this section will be open for the rest of the fight. Randomly, the boss will also crouch down, and blast hot air through the cracks in the field. Whilst these do not do much damage in themselves, they will vault players into the air, where they will get falling damage on the way down.

Players will need to be careful of their footing, as any player who falls through the hole will be downed, and appear quite close to the center of the field. On the plus side, if the Destroyer falls through the field, it will give players a few seconds to breathe before it pops back up in the center of the field.

Once the boss is defeated, the barrier will collapse and players will fall a short way towards a platform with the end chest on it.
