I don't know why but this makes me think of thinggs like runescape,, maybe world of warcraft too. And Guild Wars 2 is supposed to not be similar to those. Also, making elite areas to grinding spots? Invincibility from shrooms? WTB balance-.-The Slayer 06:25, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

I like the idea of being able to craft a wide array of objects, not just armor/clothes/weapons, but things like consumables. And I highly doubt that WoW or/and Runescape "own" the ability to craft consumables, however given that we know so little about GW2, we can't forsee how useful these sorts of items would be. At the moment, Poison lasts only for a short duration at best, it's not like you get poisoned outside of town and would need to run back to get a cure--you usually just map back or something (which is lame and an entirelly different argument). Also, I don't think the consumables ought to have effects that can't be replicated by existing spells or skills. Further, I believe the crafting system itself should be a sort of tier that you have to level up in, so to speak, to achieve maximum effectiveness with the crafting as well as the overall result, so regardless of people "grinding" for ingredients, the time invested in leveling your chosen craft seems like it wouldn't allow for everyone to get the same use out of the items. 74.79.132.108 18:42, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
