+1[edit]

I haven't really bothered with WvW because massive zerg-fests are only fun for so long before they all start to feel the same (to me). Your ideas for adding patrol-level objectives would are really appealing; they'd add a strong sense that the actions of a small group can impact epic battles. They also introduce a level of competitive questing to the game, something I had hoped to see. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:27, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the positive feedback, TEF. I read your suggestion regarding Competitive Questing and really liked your ideas. I feel WvWvW has huge potential to become THE end game of GW2; but sadly is falling short of that potential by devolving into "lets stand here for 10 minutes spamming our skills at a gate ad nauseum".

It is the one arena in GW2 which brings a large number of players together and pits them against one another. Not against computer-controlled enemies, not running static quests from NPCs, not gathering this item or that resource; no, hundreds human of players battling hundreds of other human players! There is such potential there for incredibly deep game play, convoluted strategies and tactics, and tapping into that Dr.-Jekyll-and-Mr.-Hyde miasma of reason and emotion, chaos and logic that is the human mind. Instead, what are we given? Stand in a front of a gate and press the number keys 1 through 0 as rapidly as you can while being mesmerized by the dazzling particle effects.

ArenaNet can do better, the GW fan base can do better. Guild Wars 3 perhaps 04:10, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
