Honestly I'm fine with Smiter's boon staying nuked. It is a very hard skill to balance. The problem is, a lot of smiter skills are very very good. Smite hex and smite condition in particular. They're so powerful because they're IN THE AREA damage, essentially doing more damage than fire ele skills, and having some benefit to boot! Throw in the fact that you get 30+ free healing anyways from DF and it's almost broken. At 70+ it IS broken. Throw in zealot's fire and energy management... and you get the picture. Bringing back smiter's boon is possible if you fix those skills, but those skills don't need much balancing at all if boon is dead. You're right on all parts really. It just really sucks that this great skill got nerfed because people abused the aoe effects of the smite skills. Honestly, the only way to make SB not as OP would be to remove the aoe effects of smite hex and smite condition from PvP play. Do that and you'll have a skill build that isn't as great as it once was, but is definitely more balanced. --Ravencroft0 13:54, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Two and three would never get used, though, since if someone has very low health, using a smiting skill just to get a double divine favour bonus (which is going to be like ~30 or so health, so 60 in total) is not going to be worth it when a healer could heal them, and the rest of the time, you will get no bonus. Scaling it with Divine Favour makes more sense though since the more it scales, the more important a high DF will be (it already scales the healing bonus, so scaling that twice will mean the health scales with hte square of DF) - this means DF/Smiting/Healing splits will be less viable. However, I don't think that's really the problem, because the last thing you want to do anyway is buff your smiting skill and then use a healing or prot skill. Widowmaker 11:26, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
