Reason for request: The Character Escapes extensions helps to use the Variables extension in a better and more gentle way as it would allow to pre-check specific parameters and then set multiple variables without the need to check everything again; at the moment this is not possible.
Possible pitfalls: As the Character Escapes extension introduces several specific commands not beeing structured as parser extensions or other known wiki syntax, there is a small chance that some articles may use those combinations. In this case they would be displayed not as intended, but this could be easily fixed by simply replacing those combinations from the articles.
