Mardi Gras trivia

The term "krewe" is almost certainly borrowed from the unofficial, loosely-organized groups of parade revelers during New Orleans' Mardi Gras celebrations, as well as from other festivals and carnivals: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krewe. Not sure quite where something like that should be noted, though. I wouldn't say they're UN-official…a lot of their memorabilia is actually viewed as collector items, and some of the large ones have been recognized by the municipal government. There's no real article page for "krewes", merely disambiguation…but I think it could go here. Taka Ragranok 05:46, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
