Is there a bug in the quest? Because Pyre Fierceshot refuses to open the charr lock for me.

Same here. Pyre didnt open the gate. Went back through the gate I came from and reentered Dalada Uplands. This time I unmounted my Siege Devourer upon killing the group at the Charr Lock. Some things where different this time, Vael is in my ally list and another Charr Hunter Beast joined the fight this time. Pyre opened the gate the second time. Dunno if the unmounting was required or sheer bad luck upon the first time. NexceveN 09:44, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Ran into this last night as well. Neither I nor my friend entered the area in a Devourer. We killed everything on the way then Pyre wouldn't let us in after killing the group directly in front of the gate and other groups surrounding the town. Only one beast was present in the group directly in front of the gate. Kousei Doragon 17:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Had a slightly different bug. Pyre opened the gate but it closed again traping 2 heros on the outside. (A healer and Olias as a minion bomber, which often causes him to lollygag as he spams Death Nova out of battle.) --Valshia 06:44, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
This might sound very stupid, but Pyre doesn't open the lock on his own; you have to click the lock. Just my dumb two sense.... Sentry007 User Sentry007 sig.png 21:45, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
If you get the bug, and click on the lock it gives you the message "The lever won't budge. Perhaps Pyre Fierceshot can help" -- all the while he stands around wondering to himself what Mesmer Mouse tastes like. If you click him, he tells you he'll stay there and keep the gate open. Meanwhile, you're screaming at your monitor, "Well, open the #$%! gate then!". --Tometheus-signature.png Tometheus (talk) 03:33, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I think the main difference between my successful attempts and my bugged ones was that in the bugged ones, Pyre had a chance to drop out of the party before I clicked the lock. Once he's out of the party, he doesn't do a bloody thing. --Tometheus-signature.png Tometheus (talk) 05:06, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I find it to be complete bullsh*t that this bug still exists after all this time. Do the people running this game do anything? Ever? 20:15, 20 November 2009
Still happens.... ;-) Kruhljak (talk) 23:26, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Still happens in September 2019. For the love of God they don't do shit to fix bugs in twelve years...what the hell am I supposed to do LOL

Cinematic Bug[edit]

I helped a friend to complete this quest and due to me already having Doomlore Shrine, the gate was open and we didn't need the Charr Lock, to which result the cinematic shows a duplicate Pyre Fierceshot who stands idly next to gwen and the party leader. 77.166.207.18 22:04, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
