Finest men?[edit]

"A company of my finest men went behind enemy lines to assassinate several demon commanders. We've lost all contact with them and I fear that they are lost." Once when I've been running this I accidently mixed 1 demon wave and mobs wandering near cave. Ended that I had 1 tormentor left so I thought I'd lead him to whispers, 1 mob shouldnt be a problem. And guess what - yes, *1* mob slaughtered all whispers with masters of whispers on top. Seriously those NPCs should be a bit stronger, at least to fit the plot of quest. 79.186.153.126 18:30, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

..Yup, dont waste your time if you think you can solo this even in NM. (Jaxx Hammer)--173.16.56.248 16:06, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

...I solo it on HM >.> 82.95.65.117 18:58, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

So do i...

Random Note[edit]

As a suggestion, near the entrance to the cave there is a turn that can be used as a choke point. When doing this with heroes, my minion master's minions were able to concentrate the incoming foes at this point. With Panic being cast at this point the amount of damage the waves do can be greatly reduced. Additionally, with multiple foes grouped at that one location it is possible to nuke the foes efficiently.152.7.14.158 02:09, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

rush or wait[edit]

why does every pug insist that the safest way to do this quest is by waiting as far away from the cave entrance as possible for the mobs to come to you. Wouldn't this just give more time for them to spawn and overwhelm you? Why not charge in and kill the groups of 3 as they spawn? --Moto Saxon 04:09, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Probably because the groups spawn too quickly. Pjwned 01:08, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

H/H[edit]

Just finished this with me and 7 heros. Used 2/3 of the necros in necro discord way. The 2 N/Rt's to be specific. Used gwen as a panic mes, norgu as an ineptitude mes, and then used dunkoro as a 3rd mesmer using a variant build of gwens and norgus. Basically used all the aoe interupts and energy surge. The last 2 heros were SoG rit and SoS rit. I myself was using an ursan axe build. Got to the little passage where the order of whispers guys are, flagged my heros half down it and i stood just around the corner. Had the rits set up their sprits right beside me then started the quest. The first 5 or so groups went down easily. After that it got a little more hectic but most of the enemies remained on me and the para/ranger tormenters couldnt hit me. My 3 mesmers aoe'ed them down pretty easily. Nobody in my party died and didnt have to use any cons. If your wondering the exact builds just check pvx for all the heros builds. They are all basically cookie cutter. Except my sos, which i changed to Rt/Pa for fall back and stand your ground, and my SoG rt who i changed slightly to bring shelter. Hope this helps someone, goodluck.107.5.201.217 03:32, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

So i ended up screwing up on the darknesses....killed them all at once and had a good 30 earth tormenters rape me. Tried doing it again with the same build but kept dieing, went back to town and changed it up. All my heros builds are the same, but i ended up going full W/Rt tank, using vengeful was khanei along with some other skills. -OQgjExUTITWMEMbFpFXc0kkiDbA- Thats the template i used, but you can change the last 2 skills as i didnt use them often. Again sat at the corner cycling the 2 held items, the tormenters grouped up nicely on me and my mes's aoe'ed them down again.107.5.201.217 04:48, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Is there any way to beat this mission?[edit]

I can't even come close to finishing. Heck, I can't finish off the first wave before the second arrives, and after that failure it's clearly impossible, as every wave makes it harder. I have to believe people have done it (unless ALL of the armbraces were glitch items), but HOW? Daddicus 04:53, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Have not yet succeeded myself, half the problem is I literally can't see? If anyone reads this Wiki anymore, anyone having problems with the flat out Darkness of the Mission? --Blackbirdx61 23:16, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Just c-space through it... you'll be fine if you bring Panic and at least one aoe character. (along with the usual meta-game heroes)
As for the darkness you can remove it completely by using the Argos Soft camunlocker + ticking the "desactiver le brouillard" button. (yeah its 3rd party but it hasn't killed my account yet). Alternatively you could use Texmod to remove the shadow or drop the Shard of Brilliance in the choke point. -Chieftain Alex 00:15, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Much Chief will try that. :)

I finally beat the quest by adding a soul twisting rit with extinction like the one here: http://gwpvx.gamepedia.com/User%3aIlloyon/Team_-_7_Hero_DoA YOu don't need three rits. The soul twisting rit seemed to make the biggest difference to my existing team. I tweaked mine a bit by adding anguish and taking away the rez and signet of creation to be replaced with armor of unfeeling and anguish but I'm not sure how much difference that made. I also used an ineptitude illusion mesmer and two panic mesmers so there would be no gaps in panic coverage but that might have been panic overkill and one of them probably could have been a surge mes.Driftwood (talk) 17:23, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
