In game feedback collection[edit]

It is proposed that all ideas and feedback for the game would be collected directly in the game.

Submitted ideas and feedback will be owned by ArenaNet under End User Agreement.

Currently it is proposed to implement one of two solutions:

Clarification:: 'currently' means that listed solutions are just samples of implementations that can be quite different. See discussion where in game bot solution is proposed as one of posible implementations of in game feedback.

1) Chat channel based solution

  • a new chat channel with no broadcasting that will be hosted in a separate window/tab

Submission on this channel will be allowed only in intervals from 1 day to one week per account by default but can be asjusted depending on number of submissions from this player and their 'usability'.

Language of submissions can be any that is allowed by localization of the game

Spamming on this channel will remove the privilige of submission temoprarily or permanently.

Submissions will be written in logs that will be translated and sent to the creative team

2) database solution

Submission to the database can be done via form or said database can be loaded from the logs created from the chat channel described above

Database will be accesible for creative team

For both solitions:

Clarification: new proposed implementations or their variations should deliver the same or better benefits as listed below.

  • Pros:
    • No seaparate login is required (added for clarification of implementations)
    • Only registered users can submit suggestions
    • No competitor has this feature
    • Change of End User Agreement is simple
    • Users who submitted an idea are easily identified and spam is not possible
    • ArenaNet personal does not need to read discusions that will follow if sugestions/ideas are posted on forums/Wiki
    • Users may be rewarded in a game (possible awards may varry depending on usefulness of feedback/idea and be anything from different titles depending on the type of feedback, emotes, items rewarded to players and displaying their accomplishments in 'Eternal Hall of Fame')
    • This approach can be used in other on-line games
  • Cons:
    • New development
