Kurzick/Luxon Vanquishing Reward Based on Which Faction Controls the Territory (Discussion)[edit]

When vanquishing an area in the Echovald Forest or the Jade Sea, you currently get a huge Kurzick or Luxon faction reward based on where the area is. You can also receive faction points for every kill by receiving a blessing from the priest at the rez shrine. However, if you are vanquishing a Jade Sea territory while the Kurzicks control the area, the priest will be Kurzick and the reward you get per kill will be Kurzick, while the reward you get for vanquishing the area is Luxon. I find it counterintuitive to get both kinds of faction when you can only use one, wasting the other. I would like to suggest that the faction reward be based on what blessing you have. If you don't have a blessing, THEN you receive a reward based on where the territory is (Forest=Kurzick, Sea=Luxon).

In addition, I would like to suggest that all Kurzick and Luxon territories be made vanquishable with blessings from the opposing faction. Currently, this is the case for all but two areas: Boreas Seabed and Arborstone. Through alliance battles, the Kurzick/Luxon frontier line is moved and the victorious faction takes over outposts of the other. There are 6 contested outposts for each faction (12 all together). When, for example, the Luxons control a Kurzick outpost, a player working for Luxon allegiance can enter an area from that outpost and receive a Blessing of the Luxons from a Luxon Priest at the nearby rez shrine. Upon completion of vanquishing this Echovald Forest area, a Luxon reward is granted (per this suggestion). However, even when the alliance battle map is at The Ancestral Lands (all the way into Kurzick Territory) and the Luxons control Tanglewood Copse, a Luxon vanquisher currently would not be able to vanquish Arborstone with a Luxon blessing as Arborstone is only vanquishable if you start from Altrumm Ruins (outpost), which can never be captured by the Luxons. In addition, a Kurzick vanquisher will currently never be able to vanquish Boreas Seabed and receive a Kurzick reward because, even when the AB map is at Kaanai Canyon (all the way into Luxon territory), the Kurzicks will not control any outposts that have access to this area. I suggest that this access be provided, either directly (by making Boreas Seabed accessible from Bai Paasu Reach, and Arborstone vanquishable from Tanglewood Copse), or indirectly (by having a Luxon priest outside Altrumm Ruins outpost when the Luxons control Tanglewood Copse, and a Kurzick priest in Boreas Seabed at the rez shrine at the exit to Mount Qinkai when the Kurzicks control Breaker Hollow).

But then again, it is only one area on each side. At the very least, the faction reward bonus should be based on which blessing you have.

Why this is a good idea
  •   It would provide more of a reward from winning in alliance battles than a more difficult map, because now you can go vanquish territories of the opposing faction and receive reward points of your own faction!
  •   Less grinding for allegiance titles as you can get more reward points of one faction while working towards vanquishing titles.

Why it may not work out
  •   It may not be possible to provide this access to Arborstone or Boreas Seabed without significant changes.
  •   It may cause an increase in AB players (this could be a good thing though too).
