Armor System For PvP (Discussion)[edit]

Make another NPC that will sell <Profession> Armor Kits, of which multiple could be purchased for several armor settings. These kits will be modable in a fashion similar to PvP Armor. The difference is there will be no weapon tabs and mods will only be unlocked if you have them somewhere in your inventory.

There would be no choice in armor types just a choice between no armor and an armor shell (like for heroes) that would be applied to a choice armor. Once the armor and it's runes and insignias are determined those runes and inscriptions leave the players inventory and the memory for them is stored into the Armor Kit.

In order to recover runes or insignias from an armor kit you would have to return the Armorer Npc and pay a fee to remove either all runes from the kit or all insignias or both, the kit would remain intact.

Finally the way these kits would apply changes to armor is they would read whether no armor was selected or the shell. If the armor shelling was selected then it reads the runes and insignias applied to that piece of armor and replaces the runes and insignias on your current armor with those in your kit performing a swap. A bug that might be run into is if a player has no armor on in which case no swap would be possible, therefore nothing should happen in regard to the kit and that armor piece.

Why this is a good idea
  •  Players don't have to buy so many armor sets for builds
  •  Players don't end up wasting money on perfect salvage kits long term
Why it may not work out
  •  Unforeseen coding bugs
  •  ANet fails to act
