Just for kicks, and appearances, why can't there be some weapons that were once a certain type of weapon, but now have the stats of another type. For instance, having a sword that has been echanted that instead of being used as a sword, it is now used as a wand and have the stats to reflect that. Shields could then be focuses, spears used as though they were swords or staves, etc. Sure it's a little silly, but it would be kinda fun to have an character with a sword, but with the advantages of having the wand stats.
