Not as n00b as you think[edit]

Since you found the ask a wiki question page without too much trouble, you're already ahead of the game.

  • List of common wiki and game phrases: try glossary and/or category:unofficial terms. Or just type the phrase into the search field.
  • Templates: you can contribute heavily without knowing what they are/what they do. They are just snippets of code that can be called to
    • Make it easy to display something identically on all pages, e.g. a navigation bar such as {{Sweets nav}}
    • Make it easy to follow a convention, e.g. {{ri}} when you want to re-indent a talk page conversation. (Typically, the proper format is {{subst:ri}} — the subst stands for substitution and it changes the template into the relevant wikicode...which is slightly easier on the wiki servers.)
  • user boxes are just templates that ppls use to personalize their page by showing how much they have in common with everyone else (erm, that does sound contradictory...but it's probably not). You can have a long and healthy wiki career without ever touching {{User Costumes}} or {{User NoCostumes}} or {{User Luxon}} or {{User Kurzick}} and so on.
  • Check out User:Wynthyst's page for a cool set of tools for arranging your user page(s). Wynthyst is also one of many folks who are also willing to help out. See also: {{Guild Wars Wiki:Helpers/Userbox}} and/or Category:GWW_Helper_Program_members.

Welcome to Guild Wars Wiki!  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 01:14, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

The only reason I fond the page was because I was looking for something like it and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the wiki.

Awesome!I wish I could do that!

I've posted something on User talk:Ab.er.rant,which you could answer.--Elementalmen 01:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
