Don't really wanna make walls of text like we did on irc, but I'll make a few short points. Stop comparing high end, competitive pvp to casual pve. It doesn't really work. I compare the games all the time, but I compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Secondly, don't base all of wow on a few experiences with a single guild and a single class. Thirdly, try not to ignore the entire point of a mechanic when discussing it (i.e., lockout timers, enrage timers). Yeah, they're inconvenient. The alternative would be absolute shitters getting into your ulduar groups because they got past patchwerk and thaddius with absolutely trash gear, taking 20 minutes on each fight. Ulduar is hard enough without those baddies. I'd much rather have them screened out by a gear check boss than have them fuck up all my groups in ulduar (actually, I'd rather the game not be gear-based at all, but that's another argument entirely). That's entirely why the enrage timer exists - to prevent horrendously under geared people from progressing to naxx/ulduar 25, not as some abstract countdown to the end of the world. In Mario, you didn't have to get better gear to progress through harder content, so the timer was stupid and pointless. Anyway, this wall is getting big so I'll stop there. -Auron 10:12, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Also, lemming corrected your progression bit. 10 mans go to 10 mans, 25 mans go to 25 mans. People full geared in 25 naxx stuff won't waste their time on 10m ulduars, and if they do, they'd blow through it without much trouble at all. -Auron 10:14, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
