Skin[edit]

At least for GWW, keeping the default skin on monobook would be the best option. GW2W might be a different story, but I think most people over there still prefer monobook too. -Auron 02:41, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

After reading all posts in GW2W, I agree with the status quo of keeping monobook default, all others beside Vector look terribly bad (and you could probably remove them since some brake the page). Instead of asking everybody about a change to default, maybe asking users to switch skins, get used to them and share opinions would have been more comfortable as a kind of poll. Regardless, appearence is not so important, but content is what matters. Monobook. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.pngYoshida Keiji(talk) 09:51, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback. As Dr Ishmael said on GW2W, it's about what non-logged in users see. Logged-in users will always have a choice. What do people think about polling the readers of the wiki? --Stephane Lo Presti talk 16:27, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

How would readers respond? What if some can't respond?

Internet polls are pretty dubious by default, but this one runs into an additional problem - the readers you want an opinion from are typically not editors, and a poll on a wiki would mostly likely require them to edit. If you had some kind of a monobook/vector poll on gw.com or facebook page or something, maybe it would work better, but a poll on a wiki would mostly just get answers from editors. -Auron 04:57, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
It's not worth discussing the implementation of this unless the idea of polling the readers to see if we should change the default skin is appealing to this wiki community. Another point that Pling brought on the GW2W discussion is that Vector may encouraging editing less for logged in people, due to the tab placements. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:51, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
