I think the lockpick future in GW1 was nice, open every chest and have a chance of getting the lockpick back. But to make it funnier, make it an active lockpicking, like in the "Thief" games。(Lockpickfuture in Thief) Maybe you can add different types of locks, so a high-end chest gets a more difficult lock. Examples: Numbercode(when you hit the right number you hear a small klick, or the lock loosen up a little), Normal lock(like the the one in the picture, you control the lockpick with your mouse to hit the right spots). Give more ideas!
- Why this is a good idea
- More difficult chestruns
- A fun future, adds more fun frustation to the game
- Making the rare drops more rare = more money :)
- Why it may not work out
- Just a humble suggestion, nothing really important
- People getting annoyed if they cant open a chest
- Too many lockpicks used if failing = expensive
- Someone will make a bot that does it perfectly every time and then you'll never lose a lockpick again. Of course, this could go under the "good idea" thing as well.
- Could disrupt the flow of the game.
- Transfers a character ability into a player ability
