ArenaNet:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Add settings for showing the real guild capes

One issue in Guild Wars 1 is that your cape may look very bad/boring when it comes to PvP. This is due to the choice that it should be clear for players which team a player belongs to (red and blue etc). However, it would feel much more like a real guild vs guild if the real capes they have designed were to show in the actual PvP. To satisfy everyone, this could just be added as a setting/option. Then you can choose yourself whether you want the capes like they are today or if they should stay like the original design of the guild.
There is one issue:
In a game where players from many different guilds play in the same team, confusion could arise due to many mixed color schemes.
Solution 1: Allow each guild to create 2 different capes, much like in sports like Ice Hockey and Soccer. This means you have to make one cape which is based on dark colors and one based on bright colors. This would only work in games where there are 2 teams playing.
Solution 2: Make a part of the cape and/or character that is always shown in the team color. This would work with many teams playing.
Solution 3: Add a glow effect on or marker above every player to show what guild it belongs to.
- Why this is a good idea
- Wearing a cape that the player thinks looks good is appreciated. People who would like to maintain this cape even when playing PvP would be satisfied if this was possible, while those who do not like it can still play with the fully colored capes.
- It would be easier to recognize different guilds' by their guild capes. For example, several guilds may today have the same shape of their capes and the same gold colored emblem. However, their are really in different base colors which could have told them apart. With this system you have a bigger chance of avoiding such collisions/confusion.
- Why it may not work out
- Depending on how the PvP is formed in GW2, there may be too many teams for the first solution to be possible. The second solution would require that the part that gets colored in team color looks well incorporated with the original design, and can be hard to accomplish if the customization choices are many.
