I know how Age of Conan failed, and how it was the buggiest and the most incomplete MMORPG release in a while, but that doesn't hide the fact that they had a good idea and it did work out. But I think I would improve from what they did actually and make it more like maybe TES4:Oblivion, so the shield could actually be used for blocking. Skills could work like Oblivion's does because AoC's was pretty... Uh, non exciting and didn't take any skill to use/aim. Here I'll give a link to AoC's combat(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAzH5gmlJF4), and Oblivion's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z3ewNnuNfs)
- Additional idea
- I think doing these attacks with the mouse (drag n click style) can b real good (if click-2-move is disabled).
- Why this is a good idea
- Fun way of fighting battles (For me this never got boring for me)
- Gives new/more advantages to sword/scythe combat.
- Please add your reasons why it would work here. :)
- Why it may not work out
- Button mashing.
- Spell mechanics are the same and take no skill to just spam.
- Shield blocking might make it too easy to defend yourself, would need some kind of skill to temporarily disable protection or even knock down depending on how strong of a blow the enemy did.
- Ranger's, Elementalists, Necromancers, Paragons, are more vulnerable then before(?)
- Please add your reasons why it wouldn't work here. :)
- Attack chains can be macroed
