One thing I've always liked in D&D Is the option to choose your Alignment. Whether you want to be good or evil could depend on your choices in the game. I know this is a concept that allot of RPG's and some MMO's(This one I'm not so sure of) have done but its still fun. But I also think that you should start of as good, evil or neutral. You know so you can further customize your own personal story line for your character. Example; "Shawna was a good little girl who loved to play. But then one day she killed some one. Now shes Evil and loved to kill people with her amazing evilness." Not a very good example but I think you get the point. I also think you shouldn't just be good or just be evil, oh no. You should also be chaotic, lawful, or neutral. So you can have your Character Chaotic/Good or Lawful/Evil or something like that. I know some of you are thinking "you got this idea from D&D!" and your right I did get this idea from D&D but every RPG in the world has its roots in D&D even Guild wars.

Added:

Even is some one is good or some one is evil they should not be restricted from doing any mission. and good and evil people should still be able to form party's with each other.

Why this is a good idea
  •  Gives people a true sandbox experience
  •  People wouldn't have to be in the Lawfully Good role they had to take in Guild Wars 1
  •  Could make for some interesting alignment based skills.
  •  More character customization.
  •  Could add a new type of title track for each side.
Why it may not work out
  •  Good and Evil is some times considered perspective.
  •  It wouldn't work for the sole reason what difference does it make plus as you said its derived from d&d
  •  Oh no its from D&D we cant do that! But wait so is the whole concept of RPG so maybe we shouldn't do that either. If you make an RPG you have to take some stuff from D&D, its a fact of life.
