Rewards for experience points after reaching max level (Discussion)
- → moved from ArenaNet:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Level cap issues
Allow players to trade in "extra" levels beyond the cap for unlocking primary proffesions, that one can thereafter change to.
- Why this is a good idea
- Removes repetition of low end training, gives more space for extra character slots for other races
- Keeps the level of fair play that Guild Wars is famous for, players don't need to feel any pressure to work to a mega high level, and some players can just focus on developing one, two or three to maximize the Guild Wars experience.
- Potentially removes the issue of adding new classes if they can be picked up by existing players
- Why it may not work out
- There might be some unjustified elitism among players who might discriminate in the high ended instances where in some player's minds skill might be based on level
- Professions might get overly complex for some people, programming might get difficult
- Character's will no longer have a niche look, the body of the warrior would look out of place when casting spells unless a solution to this is found
- There are probably plenty more problems. Add away.
- Most people want a higher level cap because you will get so much exp after your lvl 20 and it only gives you skill points
- The playability would halt sooner or later with every player if this suggestion took place.
- Primary profs r supposed 2 b permanent, changing them would b just stupid.
Change Class/SubClass (Discussion)
Actually, Guild Wars allow you in a city to change your actual subclass to another for build purpouses. Which i am suggesting is to be able to change Primary Class and Secondary Class. For example: I create a Human Warrior, when i am able to pick up a secondary class I choose a healing one for healing purpouses. Then some time later i think "Why not healing for my primary class?", then (maybe after completing a quest or something like that) i am able to change my class. In this way I start over lvl 1, keeping the lvls of Warrior saved for the time i want to use it again, being able to rise it where i stoped.
The same thing with Secondary class.
- Why this is a good idea
- More class improvement with the same character and Primary/Secondary combinations.
- Being able check other classes withouth creating a new character.
- Reduces the impact of suboptimal race / profession combinations.
- Makes party formation faster and easier.
- Why it may not work out
