Allow skills from multiple secondary professions at once. (Discussion)
Rather than have a character with a primary profession and a single secondary profession, have characters with a primary profession and then allow them to use any skills they've learnt from other professions. For example, a warrior might have both empathy and mending on his skill bar.
- The warrior would still have the same number of attribute points to spend.
- The primary attributes from the secondary professions would still be unavailable.
- Runes and armor would be based on the primary profession as now.
- Why this is a good idea
- Better role-playing. It doesn't make sense that a character would suddenly forget how to use Empathy just because he's started using Mending.
- It increases the skill combinations a player can try.
- It gives characters a reason to learn skills from less used secondary professions.
- Why it may not work out
- ANet may have trouble balancing the increased combinations.
- The large number of attributes over which a player could spread their points could be awkward to manage.
- Skills with no attribute may get abused.
- Yea! Why the hell no?! Because it'll make people invincible! That's a farmer's heaven! NO BALANCE! Try to imagine a 55 with both Visage and Mystic Regeneration. IT'S MADNESS!
