Assassin, stealth please? (Discussion)
The assassin, if kept, should definatley have some form of stealth ability, not much point in an assassin if he cant sneak past the enemy. I know there is shadowstep but i mean, when your trying to get to a quest location and there are a bunch of irritating monsters taking up all your time between you and your objective, wouldnt it be nice to be able to go into stealth mode and just run right past them? maybe one class type (eg. rangers) have a chance to detect them, the higher the players attribute, the less chance of detection. They should also be able to jump higher than other classes, maybe even have a double jump/wall kick so they can get to otherwise unreachable spots or take shortcuts.
- Why this is a good idea
- An Assassin should have stealth ability, it just makes sense
- They could then be used as scouts or to draw enemies away from the group or into chokepoints
- More exciting PvP and more control over PvE
- Since assassins defense is their downfall, stealth seems like a good way to temporarily counter that (only this seems to be like Shadow Form now...)
- If nothing else give him ability he is unseen on the PVP compas, that will allow him to sneak up on flag runner easily and fulfill the meaning of the proffesion.
- Why it may not work out
- Might mean assassins are the only class ever used for running etc.
- Might have to be disabled or weakened for pvp
- Fluff is never a good reason to change crunch. Also, getting jumped by invisible people in PvP is not exciting, it's really fucking dumb and tiresome.
- *Stealth alpha version* *nerf* *nerf* *nerf* *shadowstep*. Just a guess, of course. I like it, but its too powerful unless badly nerfed.
