The Balearic
This Profession is based off a deadly ancient weapon called the Sling. This weapon was widely used in armies throughout the world in biblical and ancient times. Balearic comes from the name of the Balearic islands in the western Mediterranean Sea. The Balearic people were taught from an early age to use the Sling making them deadly in battle and often more accurate then bowmen.
Attributes for Balearic:
Sling Mastery: Fiery Stone Bullets, Poison Stone Bullets, Barbed/Bleeding Stone Bullets. The projectiles used by the different slings can be everything from clay, stone, metal and sharp objects.
Courage (PRIMARY): Man Against Giant and other skills that that help with damage and stances, armor etc.
Guardianship: Protect the Flock and other skills that will aid other party members and the player.
Coordination: Fast Sling and other skills that will make the Balearic Shoot faster and do more damage.
Weapons and Armor: The Balearic would have Armor similar to a ranger, one and two handed weapons would allow the Balearic to use shields also.
Two Handed Stave Sling, One handed stave sling and One handed Slings.
- Why this is a good idea
- This Profession would be a great idea because it has a lot of real history behind it and would be a great ranged class to play. The Balearic's were fierce warriors and trained from infants to use the sling in deadly battle. The sling dates back to the bible and beyond.
- Why it may not work out
- I can't think of many reasons this profession would not work out except for the fact that rangers and paragons are already available for ranged combat.
