Battle Mage (Discussion)
I had this idea for a new profession that would be a caster but was ment for front line work. The idea would that they wouldn't have a weapon or types of weapons like a warrior does, but rager a "rod" or other kind of implement, and they would cast weapon spells that would change it into a sword, hammer, bow ect. They would also then buff others with similar spells and enchantments. I came up with it for GW1 but they didn't pick it. they could have attributes like [primary]Battle Conjuration, then also Weapon magic, Armor Magic, and Enhancement Magic. Battle Conjuration would make Weapon Spells and Enchantments more effective and/or longer. They could fill the tank roll or a great mid line support class.
- Why this is a good idea
- offers a new and inventive way for players to define what they want their character to do.
- how ofeten do you see a class in any game have a cast that is built to go on the frone line.
- I think this might be a prtty good idea. Since its meant for the front lines it could have on shorter range spells and such. Not use many support spells either, just more offense and personal defense, and not buff other people. And it could have a lower armor rating to balance it out more.
- Why it may not work out
- The GW2 system may not allow for weapon spells and such.
- people wouldn't like the idea of a heavy armored caster that buffs people.
- although its not exactly what you are saying but a dervish is a battle Mage...Well the normal idea of one any way
- equipment would be unnecessary and be unbalanced as one would not have to go to the lengths normal professions do to attain good weapons and max armor.
