Factions - on taking sides and fighting for territories (Discussion)

This is to suggest that every race forms a faction in GW2, some area all factions are in chaos, some areas not, some areas, Charrs may befriends the Norns, some Humans befriends the Asura, some Charrs befriends the Asuras etc. We will have Alliance battle everywhere in the Guild Wars 2 World. this would make the game more challenging, off the top of my head what I can think of is this: you have to alliance with 2 factions just to own one town or outposts. Off course there will be "neutral area" once entering these area, you can't kill anyone.

Why this is a good idea
  • More Factions = more side for guilds to alliance with.
  • More challenging to own town and outposts.
  • World PvP would be a lot more fun in these area with all different faction ambushing each other.
  • players will encounter more foes travelling through places not of their alliance and vice versa.
Why it may not work out
  • Telling people who their enemies are based on game mechanics is stupid, divisive, and condescending.
  • World PvP has already been described as not being on the open world, rather on a specific area (the Mists).
  • Town control has only added grind to the game, and was thus abandoned after Factions.
  • Requiring people to ally with 2 factions in order to access content would upset RPers and other players who don't want to align with anyone else.
