I, like so many others, never liked the idea of the henchmen and heroes getting a slice of the pie from runs. There NPCs, what will they use it for. I don't see Koss running to the merchant to sell his drops and pick up new armor. In fact, even though they get drops and a share of the money, we have to provide them weapons and armor upgrades. Seems a bit unfair. So these are my proposed changes to this.

I know the idea of making all drops for players only may not be taken into affect, but at least let me buy the stuff of them.

HEROES – Let us be able to open up there inventory and buy what ever drops they have. This would require some price setting from you guys. A system of how much the Hero likes you could be set up to help alter the prices. Example of an affection system;

  The more times you battle together the more they like you.
  The more times they die with you the less they like you.
  Hero favorite items.
  Give them a favorite weapon, item, skill, or such to lock in affection.

This way when you go to buy stuff from them, they price will be higher or lower based on how much they like you. Treating your Heroes well makes things better for you.

HENCHMEN – No love here just set prices. The same thing will apply if you are the only one with them as you would a hero, except the prices will be set. The only difference is if your in a group. 2 Players could end up arguing over who gets to buy the gold sword the henchman just got. So the henchman will hold a little auction. The auction price will start at the set price or maybe 10% less. The bidding will go buy your place in the party. If you are the leader, you start the bidding. If you dont want to bid you just say no and it goes to the next person. Auctions will only be hold if more then one person wants the same item. The last person to place a bid, wins the item. The winner has to pay for the item out of there own pocket or its taken dirrectly from the bank (fee may be applied) no matter if they change there mind. If they don't have the money the next highest bidder gets it. No backing out. If you did not want to pay a price then you should not have made a bid.

There could be a penelty for players that win an item but can not pay for it. They could have to pay the differance between there bid and the next lowest or what ever money they have left.

Why this is a good idea
  • Farming is more efficient!
  • What are they going to use them for?
  • Increase in game commerce!
Why it may not work out
  • Cuts the rarity back a little.
  • Could flood the market, though I don't think that much.
  • Some complaints about miss bids or scams, but no more then anything else.
