Item Degredation(Discussion)

As armour gets hit, it gets damaged, ideally instead of the person wearing it. When weapons hit something, especially edged weapons like swords and axes, they blunt/get damaged. So why not in Guildwars II? It would be purely asthetic: damaged armour would not affect stats in any way at all, and it could be reapaired at the armour crafter for either free or a modest fee.

Why this is a good idea
  • Possible to make your character a bit more distinct
Why it may not work out
  • Coding could be a pain to code, and it's not really needed
  • Because no one likes to have small unnecessary things to worry about

Damaged/Broken Weapons

I think it would be pretty cool (and more realistic) if weapons and armor get worn out. Puts a little variety into things. You could get them repaired at a smith or attempt to do it yourself.

Why this is a good idea
Why it may not work out
  • If people forget repairing their equickement and it breaks during a mission they're screwed.
  • If by breaking you mean the weapon being destroyed then this could get verry anoying to players having to buy a new weapon over and over again also the prices will increase signifficantly due to the possibillity of (already) rare weapons breaking.
  • too much like WOW
  • Also makes it easier for scammers to scam new players by saying they are selling a weapon that never breaks. If you are new player and hear that weapons break and here some one is saying that they have a weapon that never breaks you are going to be more appt to buy it. Scammers will do whatever they need to do to get more money out of players...it's what they do.
