(Discussion)

Guild Wars is definitely missing an ice realm. Now I'm not talking the shiverpeaks with snow everywhere but actual ice. This idea seems to be glazed over in some eye of the north dungeons and in the jade sea where there are fish and animals "frozen in jade" and under the water but it would be really cool to see them just frozen in place on land, a medusa type feel except with ice and very reflective, maybe even glint frozen in the side of a glacier.

I've heard that we will be able to swim in GW 2 so that opens up a lot of doors, being able to to dive from ice hole to ice hole(can't stay in too long or you might freeze to death), riding pieces of ice as they break off to different areas maybe even being able to break ice to escape from enemies or send them away.

Adding another aspect would be a section where there is an actual ice palace you can enter and fully explore.. everything made of ice and as you walk past some walls or reflective surfaces its not your reflection you see but someone or something watching you.. Being able to use the environment to your advantage or not, like having floors that crack and break if you stay still too long, bridges that crumble, fire magic melting surroundings, water magic opening up different area by allowing you to create ice paths over obstacles?

It would be ruled over by a super huge boss that freezes people with her frigid glare named O Frost O eh eh? lol

Also as a guildhall to have an ice palace type guildhall again with the frozen creatures just scattered around maybe even obstructing our paths to some degree and if you brush them a paw would fall of or something lol.

Some cool area effects for this realm would be skidding, burst of sunlight that would thaw some enemies back to life, thin and melting ice surroundings(icicles falling, floors breaking), or ice storms with enemies embedded in them and hail degening you if you are out in the open for too long all while you are blinded by white. Also what about having an almost house of mirrors type dungeon or mission where you could break through some reflective ice, and a non functioning map :) --O Frost O User O Frost O Sig.GIF 15:41, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Why this is a good idea
  •  For starters this area could be geared towards the awareness of global warming
  •  Fiery environments have been used so many times already that an icy environment would add a fresh new feel to GW 2
Why it may not work out
  •  Might take a bit too much work but anet is always up for the challenge :D
