PET DROP COLLECTORS (Discussion)

I really dislike picking up my drops. It would be nice if either there were an auto pick up option or a nice pet that follows it's owner around and picks up their drops for them. I play another online game that has a cashshop and you can buy pets to pick up your drops. This was the first item I purchased with real money. I'm rather partial to the sidekick pet idea, but would still be happy with an autopick up option.

It would be nice if minipets ran around hauling drops over to their owners.

Why this is a good idea
  •
Why this may not work out
  • No risk in grabing the loot.
  • Auto PickUp used to be implemented in the BTA of GW1 but was taken out due to abuse.
  • A pet picking it up might be a tad much. WoW implemented an excellent loot system into their games, which avoided loot stealing, and made looting easier at the same time, so I think a game of this quality (better) could do even more!
  • If it is automatic, what will you do when your inventory is full of stuff you don't want...

Ranged looting, even while dead

In order to make loot distribution more fair, players should be able to loot anything within a reasonable range. If the system is abused in farming, looting could require at least one living party member within range.

Why this is a good idea
  • Will prevent players from running into melee to grab loot.
  • Will allow players to get loot from monsters in inaccessible locations, such as at the top of cliffs.
  • If valuable loot drops for a player with a dead character, that loot could not be stolen by refusing to resurrect the character and waiting for the loot to go unclaimed.
Why this may not work out
  •   Unrealistic.
