Guild Wars 2 Suggestions

(Discussion)

A player's guild related activities should be tracked somehow. As an officer in a good sized and reasonably close-knit alliance I've noticed that for every good recruit we tend to invite large numbers of begging, obnoxious, or immature players.

It would be very helpful to have at least a short-term history of a player's guild activites(number been in, number kicked from, number left, etc) An ability to add comments on the circumstances of a person's kick would also be helpful, but will likely just include alot of swearing and character assasinations, although a list of checkboxes will suffice.

To date this has never been done, most likely because individual players may make a string of bad/stupid decisions and find themselves barred from any worthwhile guilds, causing them to suspend their accounts. GW2 will not be a subscription based game, but the impact of having one less player buying expansions may still be felt. Having a system that only tracks two or three months will likely only impact the particularly vocal unlikeable types and chronic beggars/leeches.

Why this is a good idea
  •   A very valuable recruiting tool for guild leaders
  •   Ferrets out the worst demographic of players
Why it may not work out
  •   Players with a negative history may feel unfairly scorned
  •   Talking to recruits before inviting is sometimes sufficient
