New Minimap circle: Enemy detect (Discussion)

The title doesn't explain much, but what this means is a new ring around the character on the minimap, similar to the aggro-ring. What this new ring would do is set the distance to how far you can see an enemy's red dot on the minimap. An enemy dot would show on the minimap when it enters the new circle. The circle would'nt affect the actual view distance on the screen, so players can still see the enemies even if they are not on the minimap. GW1 had no ambush tactic in the game due to the all showing minimap. Because of this, players would spend more of their time looking at the minmap than at the actual game world in front of them. This may open up new skills that exploit this feature such as group buffs to increase the viewing distance.

Why this is a good idea
  •  Ambush tactic might be introduced into PvP.
  •  Influences more actual 'looking' at the game screen than the minimap.
  •  A teeny bit of realism.
Why it may not work out
  •  May be exploited too much, causing it to be nerfed or just removed entirely.
  •  People would turn down this idea because they want to keep the unrealistic minimap that shows all of their enemies on the screen.
  • well... for the same reason GW isn't FPS ^^
