(Discussion)

Ok I think there should be some upgrades to the original storage chest idea. I believe there should be storage for all armors, weapons and collectibles. The storage will have 2 rows of tabs. Main Tabs and Sub Tabs.

Main Tabs would be like the root tab or title tab for the section of the storage you are about to use. The Sub tabs would be the individual slots or compartments for holding items. Example;

  --------- ----------- ------------- ------
  -Storage- -Materials- -Collectible- -Name-
  --------- ----------- ------------- ------
  ---- ---- ------- ---- ---- ------- ---------
  -P1- -P2- -Page1- -P1- -P2- -Armor- -Weapons-
  ---- ---- ------- ---- ---- ------- ---------
                                            ---- ---- ---- ----
                                            -P1- -P2- -P1- -P2-
                                            ---- ---- ---- ----

Now Storage, Materials, and Collectible Items will be shared storage departments for all characters on the same account.

Storage Tab will just hold general what ever items (weapons, materials, overstock this and that... STUFF).

Materials Tab will be the same, though a it would be nice to rise the limit to more then 250, maybe up to 1000.

Each Character should have a tab minimum on top of the general storage. Lack of storage is a real issue in GW1 and I sincerely hope that storage will be much more generous in GW2. I think Extra storage spaces should be available and purchasable in game or at GW Stores. One can buy an extra Character slot, why not buy more storage.

Collectible Tab would be for holding collectible drops from monsters. This is part of another idea I have on uses for these in another section for more crafting features. Since collectible items are stackable, this could be done in the same way as the Materials Tab.

Character's Name Tab would be the real add on. Each character on your account would only see there name and there items. Only customizable items could be stored in these tabs. These tabs are for collectors not people wanting to horde extra perfect weapons to sell later when market changes.

Armors Tab would be set up to hold one of each piece of armor for each set available. You could have the slot flow from top to bottom (Head, Top, Gloves, Bottom, Boot). This should include the cheap sets, collector sets, and even your beginner armor, not just Elite Armor. No collection is complete without your starter set. Now the armor you place in there will be the same as when you customized it. It will keep its runes and what ever you did to it. But you can only hold one of each piece. So if you make 2 sets of the same type of armor with different mods to it, then you have put the second set some were else.

Weapons Tab would be set up in the same way. A spot for one of each weapon available in the game. The weapon can only be placed in the spot when it has been customized. I can be removed and replaced with a different one, but is only for that character. It keeps its same stats and upgrades as when you got it. This will make a boost in the market for all weapons as well mods. There will also be a seperate section for Green Weapons (or what ever your calling them in GW2).

The tabs would be upgraded with for all new items that become available through upgrades to the game. Other limitations could be place on the weapons like also only gold weapon can be placed in the tabs.

These seperate tabs could require more then just a simple 50 gold coin payment to obtain. Maybe a quest or something. Just putting it out there.

Why this is a good idea
  • Increases in game commerce.
  • Makes Collector Type Gamers happy.
  • Cleans up explorable areas of drops no longer picked up.

Why it may not work out
  • If you go to replace a weapon in the special weapon box its customized so you no one else can use it. Even your other characters.

I found a solution.Just make it so 'all' weapons can be placed in weapon storage 'without' having to be customized.User:MoasRule
