Private explorable areas, or infinite worlds? (Discussion)
Private explorable areas should be in GW2 too, but in a different way, because spawn camping will be annoying. Players could choose a setting saying whether or not they will enter a private or public explorable area. The player's party would all be informed, and they would have to accept either setting before leaving the town or outpost.
Actually, a better way to fix the problem of one open server per world would be to have an infinite number of worlds; the only problems being:
- If the area would have lots of players farming. They would kill monsters faster than they could respawn.
- If this would happen (Which it would) players would have to change worlds to find more enemies.
- But with only limited number of world's and more and more players joining in everywhere would be crammed full and nobody would play.
- The only way to fix this. Would be to either have players have a choice of having a private server. Or (Even better) having an infinite number of world's.
- Why this is a good idea
- Spawn camping would be very boring and annoying
- There wouldn't be any spawn camping if players could still have privates if they want
- Triples the game's playability
- Why this is not a good idea
- Requires additional coding to a game that is already being developed to be an open world
- Multiple game features that are part of GW2 won't be possible with private instancing
- Missions and dungeons (where the high-end loot drops) will be instanced.
- Infinitive servers means there won't be large-scale World PvP, because there wouldn't be enough players per server.
