<!- Alright, before you start flaming, even I'm not sure about this idea, it just popped into my head so I thought I'd post it. So here is my basic idea. So you start the game with the generic name for each class. You play for a while until you leave the "Nub" area, and then you are granted a choice in which secondary attribute you wish to specialize in. This would not decrease your power in other attributes, but it would give you a bonus to your specialization. This bonus would probably be +2, and would replace the headgear system (no more helmet +1 bonuses). Each specialized "Class within a class" would have its own basic name, along with maybe few armor sets. However, in combat it would still show "Mo/W" (You can still multi-class) In your Skill Screen, or whatever GW2 has, it would say, for example, "Cleric/Warrior" if you specialized in protection prayers. I have a few examples for what to name the Specializations...

Monk->(Sage-Protection Prayers)(Priest-Healing Prayers)(Cleric-Smiting Prayers)
Warrior->(Knight-Tactics)(Swordsman-Sword Mastery)(Footman-Hammer mastery) (Berzerker-Axe Mastery)
Elementalist->(Pyromancer- Fire Magic)(Hydromancer-Water Magic)(Geomancer-Earth Magic)(Aeromancer-Air Magic)
Ranger->(Tamer-Beast Mastery)(Archer-Marksmanship)(Wanderer-Wilderness Survival)
Mesmer->(Magician-Illusion)(Corrupter-Inspiration)(Chaot-Domination)
Necromancer->(Cultist-Blood)(Reaper?-Death Magic)(Sorceror-Curses)

If GW2 has new classes, I'm sure this could somehow be adapted. Honestly, the whole idea is more of a novelty than anything, other than the attribute bonuses. If you have a better idea, then wherever there is a "?" then please type it in. One last thing...players could choose whether or not they would like to see their, and other people's Specializations in their name as a Prefix (Say "Pyromancer, Joseph Canaro", or "Sorceror, Emo Duck" - -->

Why this is a good idea
  • Well, its not a GREAT idea, but I think its just a clever little addition to the game
  • Because people like to display their favorite gameplay style.
Why it may not work out
  • People may want to Spec multiple times, and get angry.
  • Others may feel that it is overpowered to allow say, a nuker, or a healer to increase their power
