Random Events in Outposts (Discussion)

So there I am, half undressed, spending my hard earned gold on some new bibs'n'bobs, idly chatting with friends when an almighty ruckus and alarms sound the length and breadth of the hall. I swing around madly in time to see a horde of Modniir Berserkers, Shamens and... Trolls! o m g come swarming into the Hall and laying waste to anything they can get their hands on.

I try to defend myself with whatever i have equipped at the time but find myself quickly taking a fatal blow to my unprotected head and can only slump to the ground, staring with disbelief at the chaos unfolding around me. After all the players (or attackers) were dead however, a burst of light from the center of the hall announced the arrival of Lyssa who, even as she revived the dead, admonished us for letting our guard down as no place can truly be reguarded as safe. Small gifts were then rewarded for the amount of foes eliminated.

This has been my thought almost every time i have entered the eye of the north outpost. I would just like to see something realy unexpected happen. Its the vision of a thought inviolable zone brought down or defended (and you were there!). And whilst I am applying my example to this particular area, believe it stimulating enough to be used in GW2.

Again this falls into my category of low percentage random events (see [[Non Farmable Unique Items]http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/ArenaNet:Guild_Wars_2_suggestions/Non_Farmable_Unique_Items]). The chances of it ever happening to you would be slender indeed. This builds a mythology of events that when told to others would bring about disbelief, reducing the event to mere rumour.

The closest we get is the Grasps in the Shing Jea Monastery which is a non random event and therefore non exciting.

Why this is a good idea

Because its never happened to you before and unlikely to happen to you again soon.

Being caught with your pants down.

Why it may not work out

the rumour stops when someone captures it to utube i guess. Tho i believe in no way lessens its psychological impact when it happens to you.
