Tagachi Temple (Discussion)
I think there should be references to foes defeated in GW1 in GW2 that have some interaction and significance. In this case: Shiro.
There are actually two ways to do it. Either do it kind of like the "Monument to the defeat of...", whereby people can see a mural or a statue of Shiro, or the scene of his defeat, as a celebration of Canthan history. Or you could incorporate it into a sub-plot (a very minor one, tertiary at best), like a side-quest or Dungeon where there are a cult of the Shiroken who are trying to gain strength or whatever.
- Why this is a good idea
- Would be nice to remember the GW1 enemies and their defeat. (as in the first case)
- Would be nice to see the futility of following Shiro after his final defeat in factions. (as in the second case. the cult should be a truly pitiful and weak organization, to reinforce that you stomped his ass in GW1 and he's officially no longer a threat. closure is a good thing.)
- Why it may not work out
- People are probably tired of seeing his ugly face as is.
- People might get the mistaken impression that they'll have to kill his sorry ass a third time.
- Rhymes too closely with "Tanakai Temple".
- The temple probably would NOT be named after Shiro. I mean, if you want to remember his defeat, don't name something after him. Maybe name it after Nika, or something.
- Shiro didn't have any followers, no one likes him, all he ever did was mess with Cantha. Imperials hate him, Kurzicks hate him, Luxons hate him...he's pretty universally hated.
