Commando or Underoo Title

I think it would be cool to have a Commando or Underoo title track for players who complete missions while wearing no armor at all: underwear only. You could have levels like: Novice Commando, Commando Streaker, Commando Flasher, Ultimate Commando, etc. Or, if Underoo is preferred to Commando (since players will be wearing underwear rather than naked): Underoo Novice, Underoo Streaker, Underoo Flasher, Captain Underoo, etc. Of course, if "Underoo" is a copyrighted trademark, then you could go with Underpants or Underwear instead of Underoo.

Why it may not work out
  • Fully armored groups running single naked chars through missions
  • Adds nothing to gameplay but pointless grind

Grind title (Discussion)

Have a title that inclreases with amount of grind. Make the title have no reachable max.

Why this is a good idea
  • Makes grinders happy without messing up gameplay.
  • One more fun title cannot hurt the game, it just improves the playability.
Why it may not work out
  • Rewards grind.
  • no max means no point.

Historian Title (Discussion)

The inclusion of a historian title track. A reward based on the number of completed side-quest and additional story arches, such as exploring a series of mindfully placed plaques that document the lore (from the previous GW1 or any other campaigns), obtaining rare collectible artifacts, diaries, keepsakes, books, scrolls, maps, and tapestries, or filling certain handbooks. All contribute to a library. Players can earn titles like "Historian" or "Legendary Historian of Tyria."

Why this is a good idea
  • It truly rewards PvE specific players for completed quests and gives an outlet for creative story writing/character development.
  • It improve the playability and rewards the meticulous players. Players that works on long time projects like Legendary Defender of Ascalon.
Why it may not work out
  • Establishing a title on the historical elements of the fiction may make the content seem too finite, assuming the sacrifice of a possible max title.
  • Difficult to find a solution to the paradox of having maxed out a title based on quest completion when more quests are added to the game.

Beast Keeper Title Track (Discussion)

This is a new title track suggestion for Guild Wars 2. This title is orientated around rangers (or the profession that they will replace rangers with) that can have animals as pets. The title tracks how many animals you have charmed/tamed to be your pet. It starts when a player gains one pet. The title ranking system would be like this:

Rank 1: 1 pet; Pet Newcomer

Rank 2: 3 pets; Friend of Animals

Rank 3: 6 pets; Knows Pets

Rank 4: 9 pets; Stable Owner

Rank 5: 12 pets; Has A Lot Of Pets

Rank 6: 15 pets; Stable Master

Rank 7: 20 pets; Conqueror Of Beasts

Rank 8: 30 pets; One With Animals

Rank 9: 50 pets; All Hail My Pets

Rank 10: 100 pets; Tamer of Mother Nature

Rank 11: 200 pets; Mother Nature's Best Compatriot

Rank 12: 500 pets; Pet God/Goddess(Depends on Gender of Character)

Also, this track could also have title track bonuses like in the Improve Title System article. The title could have bonuses for the ranger and the pet, or just the pet. This could be like; You and your pet gain +5% attack speed, or +20 armor when you have a pet equipped as a buff while in explorable areas.

Why this is a good idea
  •  New player based title.
  •  Answers the many complaints of only having one pet, and to have a meaning of getting a pet.
  •  In response to the reason "how can a player keep track...". Well there could be an NPC that can watch all of your pets for a fee of course. So it functions like a bank. Maybe you can even make a sanctuary for all of your pets for a greater fee, that way, you can visit them and be surrounded by them in a cool environment. Or maybe you park them conveniently in your Hall.
Why it may not work out
  •  How can a player keep track of 500 pets?? Are there even 500 pets out there anyway?!?!?!?
  •  All professions may not be able to have pets (Mounts perhaps)? Or a choice of Pet and Mounts

I think the title thing could go slower. more like.... 1 pet 5 pets 20 pets 50 pets 100 pets 300 pets 600 pets 1000 pets the other way i can get to like lvl 9 in a day.

Revamped Explorer Title (Discussion)

Make it so that players do not have to explore by scraping the edges of the map. Instead, place several plaques, tomes or landmarks all over the world where people can record any lore they find into a special book. A full compilation of all landmarks visited can complete the title. Cartographer could be kept, since it is strictly a geography accomplishment. Explorer could have a different meaning, involving searching for a purpose. Finding rare and old artefacts with magical properties, more elaborate skins, rare colors, (like the icy Dragon Sword), etc.

It has also been suggested to keep the explorer title, but have both titles achieved separately.

Why this is a good idea
  • Can depict what happened over the past 250 years since GW1.
  • New title.
  • Their could simply be landmarks in all the corners of an area. So after you find all the landmarks, you will have a 100% revealed map, without the tedious scraping.
  • Important clues about the story could be revealed this way, as well as the possibility to acquire rare treasures from this new info. A rudimentary example of this is the 5 maps in GWEN that lead to the best brew in the Dwarf world.
  • These new challenges is what makes the game interesting to the PvE people. PvP peoples have their titles by defeating opponents, PvE are interested in exploration and adventure.
Why it may not work out
  • If the explorer title was not included people like having a map that's 100% revealed, and being rewarded for it.

Improved Titles system (Discussion)

There should be a greater emphasis of the achievement of a title and the perks that comes with it. I know GW1 had a basic system but it should be fleshed out a bit more in GW2 with some sort of custimization. Let say you gain "Title A" and this title is similar to say something like Deldrimor so the basic feature would be like defensive/attack boost, skill boost and etc. As you progress through the title you should be able to unlock special features like having some sort cosmetic eye candy like fiery eyes or a bodyily aura similar to bosses or when you reach legendary you get something like a 1% morale boost for every 75 kills or some sort unlocks of specific skills and whatnot.

In regards to titles like sweet tooth and drunkard, I think with sweet tooth you should be able to run faster around outpost and towns when you've achieve the title or have some sort of random helpful boost when your exploring i.e every 10mins you'll recieve a random benifit lasting 1 minute (+100hp/+20e/20% running boost/15%atk-speed/etc. I think drunkard should be more realistic, like character can't walk straight with a 10% decrease walking speed but with something like increase 15% attack damage(melee and magic) and skill bar number are wrongly activated by user. There should be special emotes and whatnot.

In summary, accomplishing titles and usage should feel fun and great and not just some collective gimmick, though this statement is somewhat contradictive.... Titles in general should be fleshed out abit.

Why this is a good idea
  • More reasons to achieve titles to cosmetically customize characters
  • Building upon the GW1 titles foundations
  • Extra motivations to stick to the game after it has been mastered
Why it may not work out
  • Takes long time to code and etc
  • PvP players may miss out these "fun" PvE perks
  • Balancing issues?
  • Giving bonuses that affect gameplay promotes grind if a person wants to get better at PvE / "forces" competitive players to complete these titles
