Kinda reminds Time Mages from FF, but still unique class. And good. I'm support this idea. --91.78.177.37 08:21, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I think if they were to revive the profession that they keep it a caster, rather than a melee character. Also I think, while a great idea, if they were to base the character design off that on the concept art for Utopia (beautiful by the way), that it would have the "assassin and dervish effect," in which everyone wants to be a chronomancer. --Fox 02:47, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
The effect wears back down and crazes balance out, even though many people would want one, like myself, the other professions would still be plentifully played, especially from those of us who have our favorite/title character they want to get throguh the game first before trying a new prof. Also the chronomancer would be a great addition to many parties thanks to mass buffs/nerfs. ANet already started and planned on adding the chronomancer, why not add it in GW2? --Elven Chaos 01:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
i love the idea of bringing the into GW2, it just seems so interesting...no doubt shaders would be important in rendering there skill effects, i personally think they would be caster support like mesmers. I think that mesmers are due for there hybrid type class (dervs and rits are certainly hybrid type classes in my opinion, why not make more?)Thaumaturge 04:04, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Forgive my naivety - this class sounds perfect. I love the art they did for Utopia, the melee/spellcasting just sounds so amazing. I know they were having problems with balance in Utopia with classes/training areas, but I REALLY wish they made utopia in the place of EotN. Not that I don't like EotN, it's just that I got more giddy when there was a new campaign with brand new professions to play with. And if it were a standalone maybe they would have introduced the Asura and Norn without looking like they just threw them in last minute. More to the point, I'd love to play as a Chronomancer, I really would.
This preofession seems to be very good, I mean it can give really usefull buffs to the whole team like paragon does yes, it has insanely high armor for a midliner, and its slowing down effects can be extremely usefull in gvg kind of play if there would be any in gw2. --Super Igor 12:30, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Personally I don't see the problem with more professions and the training area being bigger, they never confused me and I loved seeing more mechanics, new abilities, more combinations, etc. And honestly if ANet takes away any of the GW1 professions I will be dissapointed, especially if they take away my derv, which is my favorite. Also if they take away the chronomancer, faililng to include what they couldn't from Utopia, I will also be dissapointed that something new that should have been out that made me anticipate forever its arrival being canceled. So I hope to see not only the chrono, but the original profs in GW2. --Elven Chaos 18:45, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm just gonna say as much as I love the idea, he seems too specialised and his buffs have exponential balance and other issues. namely, the double spell cast. It allows spikers to use a spell like dragons stomp twice and that's instant death and what of hexers? They would double hex and that does nothing. And also does the double cast cost the energy twice or in one lump some or for a single cast AND are they cast chronologically or as one spell? It just gets too complicated.. and I can't think of any skill names that would relate to both time and damage. Maybe merely adding another attribute relating to like.. gravity damage (i got this from final fantasy, dont use.) would clear this up a bit. Its something that needs a lot more thought than other proffessions but I love the idea and I hope someone on the ANet team makes it work. The double cast has to go. Spawnlegacy 18:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

There are already double cast spells... Echo and Arcane Echo. When used together, they allow a spellcaster to cast the same spell 3 times... I don't think double casting will be a problem. In any case, Anet wouldn't copy the skill list if they DID add this class. It's just supposed to give you an idea of the kind of things this class can do. Anyway, sounds good and cool. I'd like to see some green, glossy time effects, especially with the auras :) Imaster 14:57, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Honestly skills will not be the same as in GW1, and even then ANet will most likely out of any most-liklies out there balance everything, so if there is a double cast the energy will most likely be paid twice. --Elven Chaos 19:44, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

What a great idea! this guy really has his toon thought out dont he? im all for this prof. It looks like alot of fun and a bit of a challenge. Also just think about it if you combine this with a warrior or a ele you would have the ultimate frontline destructive force! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Briar (talk).
Fcking good idea!!!
I say they should go for it. But think Anet should make the Chronomancer the way they where going to do it, because Anet is very good at what they do. So if what they where thinking is like your idea then awesome, but if they have there own idea then i will still love the Chronomancer.Yozuk
Blazingly interesting concept, don't like a couple of the rather Broken skills that are there atm though Nikdanbro 22:51, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Honestly I think the skills should be removed because skills will be completly reworked in GW2, and thus we have no idea what the skills will be like. However, the skills here are ment to just give you ideas or a feel of the profession, it's not like ANet will clone this idea, they will take it and put it into GW2 terms and balance it and etc. So let's not judge by the GW1 concepts here. --Elven Chaos Elven's Talk Page 17:13, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Man when this suggestion thing started we had a couple of good ideas going around like Chronomancer, brawler and Puppet Master. And i guess Shaman and Alchemist if your in to that sorta thing. But now allot of the horrible one's are being pushed to the top. Example: Pirate, Lancer, Siege Master, Chaot Mage. So what I'm going to do is to only respond to the good one and try to keep them alive. The Chronomancer is an awesome idea and should be at the top rather the Pirate. So I am no longer going to respond to the bad ones. I'm just going to let them die. I know there not much more to talk about for the chronomancer but we could think of something. Like balance problems I see them having. That's something we should be talking about. You know something to make this profession even better. PS for the people who read this who like the Pirate and the other ones I signaled out its nothing personal I just find those professions to be redundant.Yozuk

Sorry for that comment it was on called for.--Yozuk 04:10, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Breaking the limits

The chronomancer could not only break through time and space but also through the normal limits of the human body. Example: normally you can only attack a max of 33% faster. But with the chronomancer they could bend the very space and time around you allowing you to move and attack 50% faster on top of your normal attack and movement speed. Or creating a portal in time and space sending a fire ball back at the caster. Now is all sounds cool. But I also see big balance problems with them. So to help the Chronomancer we need to think of how we can balance them.--Yozuk 03:39, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

The shield

To my understanding, the original Chronomancer had a huge shield... it was one of my favorite things about the profession, and its armor was supposed to be Greater than the warrior's, due to the fact that the Chronomancer would be able to give relatively small amounts of damage...Zeph 21:15, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

A shield huh? I never say that in the concept art. But then again I only have 494 Guild Wars Pic(most of which is concept art). But they don't sound like they would be a tanking profession. More like a buffing profession. Like what I mean is they would be the new Protection monk. With skills more like reflect and skills to slow(or even stop) your foe while accelerating your self and allies. Them having more armor then a warrior is unlikely if you ask me.--Yozuk 04:28, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Soloability

I personally love the idea of the chronomancer and think as it was supposed to be put in Utopia is the only viable class to be added for GW2. However, upon viewing the skills, I saw no direct dmg skills. He will need some skills to bend time and space to directly damage the enemy that way he can level solo through the beginning of the game. Even monks have smite prayers, the chronomancer needs his pool of damage skills as well.--Malchior Devenholm 14:42, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
