Deserted/Middle Eastern

It would be nice if GW2 also had more deserted and middle eastern areas and towns, mostly a deserted part of the world. And the culture and arcitecture there could also be similar to middle eastern culture and arcitecture.

PS: I do not have any middle eastern backround myself, i just think that middle eastern things are cool, like deserts and buildings, so it would be nice!

I have to say a big Yes to deserts and please not something like crystal desert was which way too small and had too many massive mountains in it to even be called a desert, lets have a big massive desert with rolling sand and no mountains just lotsa sand enough to get lost in and where you cant see a single mountain for miles and lots of sand storms.122.109.43.82 16:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
If you still think deserts are cool, Go live in one, after a day you will be back to EOTN making snow angels and scatting on ice on top of your pet polar bear. Biz 12:39, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Deserts are neither cold or hot, mountainous or flat, they are areas that receive less then 250 mm (10 inches for you still on Imperial) of precipitation. Elonia is the Mideast themed region of Guild wars and I would like to see that area expanded on and find out what happened to the Seekers. I would like to see if the Crystal desert extends to the other side of the continent making it a dividing sea like the Tethys Sea before India collided with Asia.(I wonder if the similar fates of the Crystal and Tethys seas was intentional or not? Probably was not.)--SirFranz 02:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I liked the deserts in Tyria, partly due to the detail. I mean honestly, do you really want about 200 square miles of sand and nothing else?--Neyon 15:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Another thing, it is revealed that Palawa Joko dammed the river Elon; which in turn made the Crystal Dessert in a lush, green land. Also it might be that because Joko dammed Vabbi's and Kourna's main water supply would result that the northen part of Elona might become the dessert you where hoping for. So probably there would be remnants of the destroyed nations (like ruined buildings, artifacts and nomadic survivors)so there will not be hundreds of miles of sand like noted above.--Protector Yereton 13:03, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Desert Expansion

i want the crystal desert and most of elona to be turned into a big desert. and not like the crystal desert but like the sahara desert and there is only two or three outpostes the whole area. but the big thing is that there will be like other players in the desert and you can kill them. like runescapes wilderness but since the area is so large then there will not be hundreds of people every inch and youll be free to explore. since the desert will have so much risk for people who go in there should be like lots of incentive for those who dont just want go hunt people. there should very good chests, rare charmable pets that can only be found here, and of coarse rare weapon drops that are only here and at the hard to find outposts there would be Armour that you can only get by collecting items in the desert and the armour would be only made in the desert

Runescape scraped their own wilderness idea last year already, there will be no PvP outside of arenas, last thing I want when I go outside an outpost and meet some Dick Dickensen who suffers from early-puberty-player-killing-disorder-brought-on-by-overdose-of-runescape. I've got a nice backlore idea to cover this: The Mists. Everywhere, in every aspect it's shown like place where player battles go on all around. So why not to make players able to solely wander in Mists where everything is dangerous, especially other wanderers? Like a merge of PvP and PvE, but as a verry verrry restricted area, only after a special accomplishment and without any game-vital purpose? Just to have fun and loot around some things which mentioned above! And to not overload the place, make it "multi-shard" - like city districts now. For example, every "shard" will allow no more than 50 players at the same time; and maybe a time limit for every player, backlored somehow trickly. Ratys 13:20, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
This is almost exactly what they said there were doing with the so-called "World PvP". Check GW2W for more info. Ashes Of Doom Talk 22:13, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
I know what's world PvP, I've read that info. In World PvP it will be like massive everlasting battle, and I (and thread starter, imo) mean place where it's more PvE, but you may sometimes encounter hostile players. Though, it needs a motivation for eliminating those players ^^ Ratys 22:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

yep, i like this idea Nilzardo 12:36, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Yeah aweasome idea, like it too, and you could make the radar so that if there would be say a sandstorm the radar would become all blury and show uncertain information so you could get lost in the desert, would be so much fun and excitement I think, dwelling the desert with a group of people trying to find a town. --Super IgorUser:Super Igor 12:45, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

would be sweet if some players just made like a outpost in the middle of the dessert.... (gen winter)
