ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Ingame Voice Chat
I completely support your suggestion. Not only do I agree with what you said, I myself also have a problem with TS/Vent and our firewall, and I don't know how to fix it. This is one of the main things keeping me out of higher-level PvP, but this feature will enable me to join groups needing some communication, and I could make my way into some higer-leveled PvP. I don't monk that much anymore, so I really need this communication. Most of the people in my current guild also have problems with TS and the like, like things don't working, or parents who don't want their child to use other programs outside of GW. I think it would be a great addition. --Sir Bertrand 16:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
I support this idea. I disagree on the part that "some people would annoy other people (immature players)" since that's not true. It's completly different thing to type to annoy someone or to talk to someone, trying to annoy. Specially when it's a kid. --88.115.117.120 20:28, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
I Believe the Koreans Had/Have This
IIRC When I was browsing the korean site one day i found something that was a downloadable exe, at first i didnt know what it was but after alot of digging around i found out it was a free VC they got with the game (similar to TS/Vent i assume, couldn't get it to work cause i dont understand korean.) --Kei Miyaichi 07:38, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey all, wouldt be something that Guild Wars 2 have something like Ingame teamspeak without server mess or something? that peaple can use while in a instances or team --Lake Axel 09:10, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Steam has a very good system for a good number of it's multiplayer games. This would be pretty cool. --Wolf 13:43, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Dungeon runners has a very simple (press a button then talk) Voice Chatting system as well, built right into the game, why cant we do that with Guild Wars 2?--Raph Talky 13:59, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry for my late response had some internet problems, but it could be much better if you are in a dungeon (or whatever its going to be called in GW2) or PvP but will GW look for this?--Lake Axel 08:21, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Best suggestion
thus far. Having a "team" game like GW is bad without any real "team" communication outside of Ctrl+Space spam and furious drawing on your compass. 76.10.164.96 18:33, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
I am the original author of this suggestion and I thank you for all your support. If we could get some more positive comments in then surely this will give Anet incentive to implement this particular suggestion. I have decided to edit/remove the following pros/cons, "-.- if we were *caring* GW would have made the game with WoW style graphics -.-" and "What happens if there were verbal abuse and verbal advertisements from gold sellers, and would it be cost effective to keep a voice chat log?" There is already a con that specified that the chat channel may require monitoring and also I mentioned that there be a mute button (already in my suggestion) to block out any unwanted distractions. --72.205.249.193 01:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Noise Control
One thing that could be useful is the farther your character is away from the sound's source (person talking) the lower the volume is, thus giving it a more realistic feel, while at the same time making it still possible to talk in overpopulated areas and also as said above when u click on a person and there name is highlighted have a little volume control button that alows for fast muting --Don The Donutmaker 05:38, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Meh, they could just rip the technology from another voice chat service, there's tons of great ones out there. --Ʀєʟʟɑ 19:32, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- Btw I've had a similar idea, I made something on my user page:

After playing a game that has voice chat enabled...Guild Wars seems really lacking this. If there was a system implemented where people could talk on their mics it would be wonderful. Perhaps in a team or guild setup.
- Pros
- It's easier to communicate with your team/guild.
- People like talking to each other.
- Would attract more people
- It makes synchronization easier within the team. (Spikes, defense, offense, running)
- Implements a wonderful new game mechanic
- Cons
- Mic Spam is inevitable. There would need to be a limit to talking, which is bad.
- Little kids play the game. The ones we all tend to get annoyed with after hearing longer than 3 minutes.
- Could be hard to set up and implement into the game. (I don't know much about computers...would this even be possible to add? This is considering lag, flood, memory, etc.)
- Encourages raging and grieving from assholes in the game.
- Mics cost money.
PS: Speak your thoughts..

- And author, if you really consider this, send in a support ticket found @ the guild wars website. They have real people that talk to you and listen to your email (and will maybe send it to the suggestions and support team) if you follow up the FAQ auto-spam email by clicking the link that says "Didn't answer any of your questions?". Remember, keep the e-mail legit, this means correct grammar and spelling, then they will listen.--Ʀєʟʟɑ 19:35, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
