"Upcoming Birthday Event will not include new" - new what? Biz 05:44, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- Already changed, Wiki didn't accepted [[Category:Festival hats|hats]] (= showed nothing) so I changed it. --BigBlue talk 06:11, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
Auction House and Marriage
" Auction House and Marriage will never be implemented, but it's possible for Guild Wars 2" ← ...marriage...? O_o --Dirigible 06:16, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- See [1], second picture: "In game marriage is probably not something that will be supported in GW." --BigBlue talk 06:38, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- Marriage is a popular system for RPers in most online RPGs, it is certainly not uncommon for pvers to want this, I can understand that no major systems like marriage & auction houses will be implemented in GW 1, GW2 on the other hand... --Jamie 07:55, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- When players ask me about marriage, I used to answer "You're free to marry, as you wish" but they really were asking about our supporting marriage, with things like NPCs, locations, maybe wedding clothes, etc. Those things will not be offered in Guild Wars, and, like auction houses, will be considered for Guild Wars 2. --Gaile 12:04, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- will there be any change to trading at all? if not an auction house, at least include a mods/inscriptions trader, even if u limit that to perfect mods and inscriptions like how the scroll trader only takes rares. please! Wongba 12:21, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- Maybe A name change npc could be added at least. For weddings. We could hold our own gatherings, furnishings, ale, ect. Just the ability to take your already leveled, established charecter, and unite with another player, through last names, would be interesting. Maybe just one npc in hub towns like Kaineng, Kamadan, Lions Arch, where you pay 1 plat or so and both parties have to sign there name, like we do to donate alliance faction, and the "justice" says are you sure? you hit yes, and both of your names are changed to original first part of your name, and incommon last part. For instance, Like mine would go from Sabuu The Wretched, to Sabuu Whooped, or something. Not as hard as putting in a hall, ect, to get married in, and I think it would make at least a few of the people wanting marriages ingame happy. Maybe add one extra slot on the hands armor area to add in a betrothed thing kinda like an inscription, but no benifits besides just saying your hitched. I know that you can alreayd jsut remake a charecter and make similar last names, but then you have to start over, just my oppinion that being able to make your exsisting charecters someones ball and chain would be really cool for thsoe of us who have been playing with the same people, women ect, for the last year or so. Maybe just how i feel. i dont know. Just wanted to add my two cents worth. lol. Sabuu The Wretched 07:44, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
I am sad beyond description to see no trade steps like an auction house are being taken and will not happen ever in GW. Its honestly getting so hard to enjoy the game in any large towns because all it is is endless WTS WTS WTS, and trying to sell anything of your own now is impossible (which is COMPLETELY incompatable with the new loot system btw). I love HM but would have taken a trade system over it in a heart beat :(
- Do you really whant marriage? I mean you meet some one who is nice for a while, get merried then suddenly she leaves you taking half of you guild hall, bank account money and ectos and you stand there whit no lower body armour =D ? Auction house might be usefull, simply becouse you wouldnt need to use third party fansites to bid and what not. Biz
- I could care less about in-game marriages, Im content with my upcomming marrage in real life lol But I think the game is in desperate need of an auction house or ANYTHING else to make trading items not take hours and have the side effect of ruining the ability to enjoy larger towns. If they made such huge changes to the drop system, where making money requires trading with players, they have to come up with some sort of trading system, text spam is not cutting it. And from what I have read there is an outright "NO" to anything for GW1 ever, which I think is such a crazy thing after these drop changes.
Armor
No armor to GW2? Doesn't the promo news on the Hall of Monuments say "Then, when Guild Wars 2 arrives, each of these monuments will correspond to special features your Guild Wars 2 characters can "inherit" from your own legendary past, giving you access to exclusive titles, companions , weapons, attire, and miniatures."? Unless by 'attire' they mean simply festival hats, or something... Skuldnoshinpu 11:51, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- Guild Wars 2 will have a completely different engine. We will not be porting art from a years-old game into the brand new game. So the transfer of the actual FoW armour isn't what is referred to in the Hall of Monuments reference. An inheritance does not necessary mean carrying down an item; it can also be a means to provide you with the wherewithall to acquire an item in the future. I have asked for more details on Hall of Monuments and believe we will be sharing more info soon. --Gaile 12:08, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
- Ah, that does make more sense. I did think the concept of porting the old art over was kind of weird, but that's what popped into my head when the info on HoM first came out. Thanks for the explanation :) Skuldnoshinpu 16:48, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
