Good idea. File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 16:29, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- no monk interrupts please. --Life Infusion «T» 16:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Why not? It really helps a monk do "offensive" prots. Instead of a regular prot, he targets foes to negate damage. And don't go whining about "but it doesn't fit the themeeee". It most certainly does. File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 23:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

- This skill is just energy management on a smiting monk (such as smiter's boon support healer) and it works fine for that. Use it against rangers, warriors and assassins and your energy is fine. Fine as is, sees some use, not overpowered or horribly underpowered. Misery 09:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- See, the smiting line sucks. That's why we propose to buff it. File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg nuke7 File:Nuclear7 sig image2.jpg 12:20, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

- If you are comparing raw damage, the smiting line does less, but I am not sure why people say it sucks. Its got excellent possibilities for support damage. Strength and Honor, Smite Hex, Smite Condition, Reversal, Signets of all type, they have all seen a lot of use, albeit maybe not on monk bars. Rt/Mo is common in HA, along with A/Mo Assacasters with Castig, Sig of Judge combo. I dont think the line is underpowered, I just dont think it provides the damage other lines do. Then again, I dont think its meant to. --Angelic Loki 23:33, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
- Of course we are not comparing raw damage. Even if we did, this would be on all fours. The problem is that smiting also sucks on the utility side. there are few "okay" skills, not enough "good" skills. So yeah, it sucks. (Assacasters use sıg o judge cause ıt's free KD, and because they have their elite free. ) -- NUKLEAR IIV 20:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like this skill the way it is now, some damage, alright recharge for a signet, and it gives energy. A mesmer with fast cast could make this signet activate fast if they want, but as a monk I don't see 1 second activation as a big issue, especially since it isn't affected by Daze. - Elder Angelus 20:09, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. This is fine like it is (though other smiting skills could do with some buff, true). It's good energy management, costs nothing to use, and does some armour-ignoring damage as well. 1 sec cast is reasonable enough. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:82.25.180.160 (talk).
- This is probably one of the only decent smiting prayers skills. Buff it and it will become very OP. As it is it's just a case of the fact that almost all the other skills are aweful. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:86.27.136.194 (talk).
- This doesn't need a buff. If you think this is underpowered try using Shock Arrow. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:96.233.11.131 (talk).
- yes, but shock arrow is a slightly more spammable spell. In PvE, most monsters attack randomly, and in PvP, smiting prayers is useless, so yeah, no problem with making some of their skills OP when they can only use them once every 20 seconds. Thus Shock Arrow is better in PvE, and in PvP the fact that smiting doesn't really have that much energy usage (all their high energy spells have massive recharges, so unless you spam smite/banish or maintain those enchantments which cause damage back from attacks (can't remember what they are called), smiters don't need that much energy so suddenly. It would be better to just reduce the recharge, because that makes it on par with Shock Arrow for energy management.Crimmastermind 03:12, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Imo this is fine as it is. It gives pretty powerful energy management but seeing how few decent skills smiters have, they could do with it. If it was being abused too much by /Mo I would suggest partially linking the energy regain to Divine Favour (a bit like they did with Glowing Gaze and whatnot for eles) but tbh it's not that big a problem right now.

Please leave this skill alone. It's good. :) Gelei 08:19, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
- Castigation is run by 99% of smiters with half a brain.
- It's so easy to trigger the conditional effect of castigation. See a warrior pounding on a target and casting on him almost always triggers the effect.
- If you can't seem to get the conditional effect of castigation, stop failing so hard. Then again, it's a dead game, just continue failing.Pika Fan 08:46, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
